What The Heck Is YOUR APSense Anyways?

WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR? REALLY!! I want to know, I really do! Me, I'm a basic guy, life has given me my share of licks..yes I do have problems like everyone else I suppose. Sometimes..in this journey called internet marketing..we get caught up. I mean there's so much BS on the internet, SCAMS, people looking to make an easy buck and of course the "secrets". Whatever happened to people just being people? People helping each other, people getting to know each other, people having FUN together? Isn't this what SOCIAL NETWORKING is really about? Or is it about copying and pasting ads? Because if it is, I guess I'm in the wrong place, but I don't think so! From my experience I KNOW what web 2.0 really is. This is a COMMUNITY! Large, diverse and amazing! It belongs to us..because we are the people and without people there can be no community! So what should we be doing here anyways? Do you run around the community you live in and yell at everyone you see: Join my business now because it's so great and it's going to be the next big thing and I love it so you should too and get in before it's too late! Let me tell you...I could give a rip about your "Hot Biz"!!!!!!!! I don't care!!! And I never will! Until I at least know you a little, who you are, what you stand for, what you bring to the community! And even then, I'm more likely to look for ways to benefit us both, than I am to join your "flavour of the month" I mean...there is just too damn many, and right now..my number one commitment..is building relationships..inside and out of this community, showing people that when we work together we WILL all succeed! Every successful business that ever came into existaince, succeeded because the people who built it understood how vital it really is to build LASTING relationships with people, they understood how you have to pour VALUE into each others lives, how important communication really is! If you are faceless, if you have no back-bone, if you stand for nothing other than "join now", your business is doomed! and you are wasting your time! TRUST ETHICS COMMUNICATION ACCOUNTABILTY ENCOURAGEMENT FUN COMMITMENT TRUTH REAL VALUE FRIENDSHIP THE RIGHT ATTITUDE These are the true foundations of success, in life Period! So why the heck, in a community, of over 20,000 people, are there only about 80 people who have really grasped what web 2.0 really is? Everthing you need to succeed is right HERE! | I have been perusing all the responses and giving mine a whole lot of thought before I put down mine. Ok OK I admit it I am late again, slow on the quicks draw. I am No seriously My brain has been chasing the other half of my brain trying to figure out what to write. I have just finally realized that chasing my tail around the internet was getting me nowhere and I was getting there faster than I wanted to LOL The amount of BS and Scams out there make me sick and pissy at them. There are times I just want to delete all my email accounts and ignore everything but............ we all know that won’t happen Where is the normalcy out there. Course I thought and joined here thinking I would fire my ads out left right and center. Left for over a month and started all over. Make great new friends, learning new concepts and absorbing everything I could here. Have I made any sales NO Do I care Not really It has made me realize I would much rather help others get to being #1 in Google or Succeeding in their business Total turn around and outlook Success comes from giving and caring about others. Hence I have switched some of posts to aiding others in making there blogs better. Reaching out to assist them achieve their goals. That's quite a load you have spread on the page there and there has been some wonderful reaction - so much so that I am wondering if I am in the wrong place. I joined Apsense because there is a whole world of thinking, opinionated, argumentative, talented, beligerant, bloody minded, narcisistic, ignorant, clever and any other personal attribute you can think of people out there. This, from where I sit, is a community of marketers - not a marketing community. This is the sort of place that forces you to learn from the comments of others and from the mistakes of others. It is a place where the constant urge to say "have you seen this - guaranteed to blow your socks off" can be relaxed and the osmotic process of business building and networking be allowed to follow its own slow but relentless course. I have not been active here long but I have seen some great opinions expressed and I have been able to pick up a few pointers from the business centres and web sites I have visited. I've even added one of my blogs to my signature in case anybody wants any of the information provided by the contributors! (No, I am not a contributor - the blog is there so other people could tell me what they are doing both on and off line. It works well.) Once a community like this starts feeding on itself it will inevitably collapse because the rest of the world doesn't belong - and that's where 99.99999% of your potential customers are. | IThere is one word that is sort of covered on the list but to me is a fundamental on it's own INTEGRITY - it's literal definition is wholeness or completeness - but when we are talking abaout people we are talking about a morality. It doesn't mean being boring - it just means being straight - with yourself and others! And i've noticed a difference too - there seem to be more discussions and less "join nows" in my mail box and on the blogs and groups too. BRAVO BRAVISIMO. And the jokes are getting worse too! Since you have started a great list, let's add a few more things: I must add "Justice" I will not engage in any transaction that doesn't benefit everyone concerned. I will influence others to serve me because I will first serve them. I will commit to eliminate: hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness, cynicism and being resigned. | Once again Garnet...you have done it! You are so absolutely right! I think about my company and why I joined. Well, I was fortunate because one...I met these people way before I joined. I was fortunate to go to a seminar they held in Atlanta. So ...I met them face to face, they kept in touch with me..and not to mention that my fiances mother was in the company too...(trust me....I didn't do it cause of who is she in that way....) but who she IS (we are great friends too btw ya'll) ..and everyone I met!!!!! So they (the people) and then of course the company and what it was about. But..if some Dick, Tom or Harry off the street came up and threw it in my face......I would of just walked away and not even thought about it again. This world..you are so right with all the bad! For me..(I don't know about everyone else) I didn't start my business just to be miserable like I was when working for 'someone else'! I came into this to meet people, help people, TALK, be free, and MOST OF ALL be myself! And I definitely am not the one to hide behind anyone or anything! Cause I came into this world with a heart, mind, and soul..and mouth...and I am going to USE it and ENJOY it...! A lot of people do make a lot of money by 'hiding' ..but trust me..the money doesn't last long, cause they wont last long! People FOLLOW People. Some get led astray...but trust me...they come back! If not, they end up leading the others astray. That is why I am so glad of our decision to have the calls to get to know each other! We do not need to be policed or handled like kids in pre-school. We are adults and all it takes to build a great community is people taking responsibility and accountability for themselves. No one reads guideline or instructions now days so you could write chapters about spaming and all the other bad practices here but no one but a few would read them. To purely get a great community going it needs to be moderated and peoples mistakes or breakage of any rules need to be pointed out to them before content is allowed to be posted. It's like pre school, the teacher/administrator has strict rules which everyone is taught. But this will never happen.
