Potato Gratin
If you’ve guests coming over and need a robust, delicious dish to serve them, a potato gratin is a great idea. It’s cheesy, warm and will be the topic of conversation at dinner.
To make Potato Gratin, you will need:
4 potatoes, use a slicer to get even slices , about 1/4 inches thick
1 onion, sliced into neat rings
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon al alali Ground Black Pepper
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon. salt
2 cups milk prepared from al alali Full Cream Powder milk
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Centigrade.
Step 2: Generously butter a large baking dish.
Step 3: Place 1/2 of the potatoes at the bottom of the dish, lining the slice to cover the bottom. Top this with a layer of the onion rings. Now add the other half of the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: In a saucepan, heat the butter gently. Add in the flour and the salt. Stir constantly so there are no lumps. Now add in the milk.
Step 5: While still stirring, let the mixture thicken. Put in the cheese and allow the sauce to cook for another minute.
Step 6: Generously douse the potatoes with this sauce and sprinkle some more cheese on top.
Step 7: Cover with a foil and bake for an hour and a half. Serve and enjoy.
