How To Prepare The Home For a Baby

On of the greatest joys in this world is making a new life, this is the purpose of every woman and the most anticipated day in their lives. But before you bring the little person into your home there are some essential things you have to change. You'll have to get rid of some of your favorite belongings, because they can be dangerous to the baby and change some of your habits entirely. It is not and easy task, but when you see the toothless smile on your child you'll do anything.
Think Ahead And Prepare In Advance
Although it will be a while until your child can crawl and walk it is a good idea to secure the entire house. Trust me it is better to do it now, because when the baby arrives you'll be too occupied with it and won't have time to do anything around the home. Therefore the preparation should begin long before it is time for the baby. When you decide which room is for the baby it would be good to repaint it, with the appropriate paint of course and give a couple of months to dry completely.
It is important not to put too many things in the room, you'll need the basics a crib, rocking chair, some toys, changing table and a small wardrobe. A baby monitor is one of the essential gadgets you'll need because you can't be with the newborn twenty four hours a day. Prepare for the hunger, your and the baby's in the rush and excitement there won't be much time to sleep not to mention cook, therefore make sure you have enough ala-minutes in the fridge.
Of course you'll be purchasing a lot of clothes, sheets, diapers and all the necessary items, remember to wash them before you dress the baby. I recommend the usage of gentle laundry detergents or special baby soap and the washing should be done by hand. Night lights are also an important part of the preparation for the new addition to the family. Make sure you place them around the baby's room and in the hall so you won't trip when getting up in the middle of the night.
You might want to replace some of the upholstery on furniture, curtains, rugs and carpets. If you're wondering what is the point in all this, I'll tell you right away all of the above accumulate a lot of dust an dirt. You can't possibly remove all of it with a regular commercial vacuum cleaner or beating, even the professional vacuums can't be fully trusted. Another thing is some carpets and upholstery have protective anti-stain coating which contains chemicals.
The combination of dust and chemicals is not the safest environment for a newborn, because it doesn't have an immune system. Whatever you decide it is a good idea to hire a cleaning company and leave them take care for this issue. There are many who offer package services and use green cleaning solutions, here is my personal favorite.
