Clean Barbeque Sauce Stains from Carpets
You are preparing delicious dinner for the family, and in addition to the meat you make so barbecue sauce. And ups – some of the sauce ends up on the carpet. Do not worry – it is not a reason to spoil the family dinner. Your carpet will be safe when you have the appropriate cleaning products and approach.
Methods for Cleaning Barbecue Sauce Stains
Cleaning Method 1:
Step 1: Scrape as much sauce as possible with a butter knife or a spoon. You may also use paper towels if the stain is still fresh.
Step 2: Mix together warm water and gentle dish detergent in a big bowl.
Step 3: Use a clean sponge to gently rub the stained area of the carpet. Try to restrict the stain and avoid spreading it with the cleaning tools.
Step 4: Blot the area with paper towels to absorb the moisture and some of the sauce.
Step 5: The remaining barbecue sauce will be removed by the next cleaning solution – a mixture of ammonia solution and warm water.
Step 6: Apply the solution on the spot with a clean sponge and gently dab the carpet fibres.
Step 7: Blot the area with paper towels to absorb the ammonia cleaning solutions.
Tip: If you still notice some traces of the sauce, you may repeat step 6 and step 7 of the cleaning process once again.
Step 8: Rinse the area with clean water and sprinkle some baking soda on the spot. Leave the soda to work during the night.
Step 9: Vacuum the carpet in the morning to remove the soda and to restore the fibres.
Cleaning Method 2:
Step 1: Scrape excess quantity of the sauce from the carpet as explained in the step 1 of the cleaning method 1.
Step 2: Gently rub the stained area with cold water and liquid detergent.
Step 3: Blot the spot with paper towels to remove the excess moisture.
Step 4: Spray the stain with a special carpet stain remover and leave it to work on the spot. Always follow the instructions on the cleaning agent label.
Step 5: Rinse the area with warm water and a clean piece of cloth.
Tip: Repeat the step 4 and step 5 of the cleaning process once again if the stain is still visible.
Step 6: Blot the area with a dry piece of cloth and allow the carpet to air dry.
