The rush in the early mornings makes us to stuff food in such inappropriate ways that it can make us unhealthy and lead to all kinds of health disorders. Most of the time, we are unaware of the different methods to eat food and yet make it healthier as well as tastier.

Breakfast plays a vital role, even with weight loss. People who skip breakfast tend to feel hungrier later on in the day, which forces them to eat more by lunchtime making them to gain weight. It is called as breakfast for a reason. Having breakfast is necessary in order to remain healthy.

Life is as busy as it is, while we are always rushed in the mornings with numerous tasks to be completed at the same time, preparing or eating a heavy breakfast could be a strenuous job, which makes us either skip eating or eat a fat loaded ready-made food, which are unhygienic as well as unhealthy. A healthy first meal boosts the learning ability and speeds the mental performance throughout the day. All we need to start our day with a kick-start is a little protein and a little fiber.

Well, looks like there are many benefits of eating a nutritious breakfast, is it not? Here is a recipe, which will reduce the time for prep up to minutes.

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Rolled oats
  • ½ Cup water
  • ½ Cup milk (cow's, soy, or almond)
  • Salt

For toppings

  • 1/3 Cup of blackberries
  • 1 Tablespoon of chopped walnuts
  • 1 Crushed graham cracker

Directions

  1. Blackberries are one of the most anti-oxidant rich fruits, it is also rich in fiber, and vitamin C. Walnuts are rich in proteins and healthy fats, which are as essential for our body. The combination of these both together will make the oatmeal more filling breakfast.
  2. In a small pot over medium heat, add rolled oats, water, milk and a pinch of salt. Stir occasionally making sure there is no formation of lumps and until the oats is thick for about five minutes. While cooking oats add blackberries and stir for a minute. Once the oats are cooked, add it to a bowl.
  3. Now, your oats are ready, but to eat plain oats can be boring sometimes. Hence, add these below toppings and enjoy your breakfast.
  4. To the cooked oatmeal, add blackberries, chopped walnuts, and crushed cracker of the quantities mentioned in the ingredients and mix well. Nothing can be as tasty with fruits and nuts together to start your day. Eat your ready blackberry pie oatmeal and stay healthy.
