Brijmohan Agrawal otherwise called as “Mohan Bhaiya” is a prominent political leader in Chhatisgarh. Recently, brijmohan agrawal news is becoming viral and it is related to the purchase of forest land by his wife Sarita Agrawal in 2009. The opposition has escalated this issue to a great extent that it is defaming the popularity of BJP in Chhatisgarh. He hails from Raipur and he has contested elections in Raipur and has won consecutively in five elections. Let’s see here about his life, work and land scam case.

 

Early Life & Family:

 

Brijmohan Agrawal was born on 1 May 1959 in Raipur, Chhatisgarh. He has done Masters in Commerce and has also done LLB from Durga Mahavidyala in Raipur. During his student life, he aspired to become an advocate.  He is married to Mrs Sarita Agrawal and has three children – Abhishek, Shubhkriti and Aditya.

 

Political Life:

 

He joined Akhil Bharatiya Parishad in the year 1977 which started his political career as a student.  He actively participated and held responsible positions in student Politics. He was the president of Agarwal Yuva Mandal from 1980 to 1985. During 1981-1982 he was the president of Durga Mahavidyalaya College, Raipur. He became an active member of BJP in the year 1984. In the year 1990, he won from Raipur Constituency and became MLA and from then on he didn’t look back in his political career and won consequently for five years. In 2008, he was the Cabinet Minister of School Education, Public Works Department, Parliamentary Affairs, Tourism and Endowment Trust Culture under the Government of Chhattisgarh.

 

Social Life:

 

He had interacted directly with the farmers and the poor people beyond the political diplomacy. Dealing directly with the masses helped him in understanding their problems well and has helped for their development. He raised funds for the development activities of the state, has helped for the marriage of poor girls and distributed tricycles for the handicapped. His family is also involved in many social activities.

 

Accolades:

He is the recipient of “Best Legislator” award given by BJP. He is also the recipient of “Krishi Karman” award several times for the development of Agriculture in Chhatisgarh.  He even won it when Congress-led-UPA was ruling.

 

All these have gained him huge popularity among the people of Chhatisgarh. All his social work helped BJP to earn a name in the state. This has helped the BJP to win in all the elections and run the government successfully. All these have created jealousy in the opposition party. So, in order to defame Brijmohan Agrawal and BJP, they have created this land scam case and have gone to the extent that they have dragged brijmohan agrawal wife into this case. It is to be noted that they didn’t spare his son Abhishek also in this case. This shows the dirty politics by the opposition parties whether they have dragged the family of an MLA into a conspiracy.

 

The Land Scam Case:

 

In the year 2009, Brijmohan Agrawal’s wife Sarita Agrawal bought 4.12 hectares of forest land in Sirpur in Mahasamund district. This land is being used to build a forest resort and Brijmohan Agrawal’s son Abhishek’s company has undertaken the construction work. Since Sirpur is a Buddhist pilgrimage spot, it attracts several tourists from India and abroad.

 

It is said that this land was donated by a farmer, Vishnu Ram Sahu to Water Resources Department for public use. This brijmohan agrawal case has been raised by Lalit Chandranahu of Kisan Mazdoor party has written allegation to the collector. Subsequently, Chief Minister, Raman Singh has ordered Chief Secretary to provide an unbiased report on this issue. Brijmohan agrawal stated that this land was purchased legally and also said if found guilty, will return the land. But till date, nothing against Brijmohan Agrawal and his family has come to light.

This itself goes to prove that Brijmohan Agrawal’s wife and his son are innocent.
