Narendra Modi Government is bringing the rural version of the much anticipated start-up India campaign. Named as Deen Dayal Upadhyay Swaniyojan Yojana, the government aims to provide structural and financial support to the people in rural areas to start & grow their businesses.

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Swaniyojan Yojana will be linked with the MUDRA Bank Loan Yojana and rural development ministry will initiate the innovative credit linked subsidy under the scheme.

The main objective of the Swaniyojan Yojana is to provide financial support to the rural youth looking forward for self employment but unable to do so because of lack of finance and knowledge. Rural development ministry will also train the rural youth with different skills for becoming successful entrepreneurs.

The government under the scheme will open incubation centers across the country to provide skills to the rural youth and encourage self-employment. The funding for the Swaniyojan Yojana will be managed by Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) Bank.

At present, most of India's rural youth is landless and depends upon the manual labor for their living. The government is also approaching other departments including textiles, animal husbandry and food processing to help rural youth develop new companies in different segments.

Existing Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDUGKY) will form the basis of this scheme but it would focus more on self-employment than generating placements. Training in the field of beauty, masonry, horticulture and agriculture will be conducted through this self-employment programme.

The complete list of schemes launched by Narendra Modi Government can be found on Sarkari Yojana, a popular blog for the same.
