BAPL Manifests Durgapur with Signs of a Successful Aerotropolis City

An Aerotropolis can be called upon as an extension cum transformation of a city into an airport city. It is expected to have some basic infrastructures that may include - Residences, IT Hubs, Educational Institutions, Manufacturing and Logistics centres, Business Centres, Healthcare Divisions, Retail & Lifestyle hubs and above all - A World Class Airport. The development and further maintenance of such an Aerotropolis is dependent on the revenues as generated by the airport or the aviation sector as a whole. 

It is an ultra-modern airport, with all the great amenities of an Aerotropolis that are seen with other aero-cities around the world. Moreover the airport is now fully operational and is running daily flights from Durgapur to New Delhi and Kolkata. The city of Durgapur, which holds several public sector undertakings and many power industries, got great benefits from the launch of these flight schedules. The class of people, who were benefited the most, were the executives of these companies, who had started taking the 45-minutes flights from Kolkata. In its initial stages  there were the government officials only who used to take the Kolkata – Durgapur bound flights, but recently after appending New Delhi as its new destination, the other (non – government) officials also has begun traveling frequently. 

As a part of this project BAPL introduced a great residential project and named it as Sujalaam Skycity. After the launch of this hi-tech residential project, the city of Durgapur has seen a massive gain in its reputation in the real estate sector. This Skycity has the following facilities that make it a business hub as well, other than being just a residential complex status: 

This Skycity is located in the centre of the Durgapur city and it too owns many great amenities that all together make it an ever-glowing aero-city. Mr Partha Ghosh acted as the key person behind Bengal Aerotropolis Project. It was Mr Partha Ghosh who brought into limelight a world class airport that was further named as KNI Airport, also known as Andal Airport.
