QuickBooks Printer problems can arise anytime which eventually affects your work and wastes a lot of time. There are instances wherein you can’t print from QuickBooks, be that reports, transactions or anything else.

Things to Remember if you can’t print from QuickBooks

Make sure that your printer is switched on or plugged in properly.
Check whether you are able to print from other programs. If not, then the problem is clearly not with your QuickBooks.
Restarting your computer may not be a good idea to solve the issue. Several times, ‘rebooting’ the system works magic.
If you can’t print from QuickBooks, following printer codes may be displayed on your screen:

Why you can’t print from QuickBooks?

Your printer is not installed properly.
The default printer has been changed.
You haven’t logged in as an administrator.
You “can’t print from QuickBooks” if QB is not reinstalled correctly.
Your printer is switched off.
You can’t print from QB if the paper tray is empty.

Steps to Resolve “QuickBooks won't print” Issue

Step 1: Check if the printing can be done outside QuickBooks

Firstly, you have to switch off the printer and restart your computer.
Now, switch on the printer and ensure that the printer is connected properly with the system.
Go to Start menu and select Control Panel.
Choose Printers and Faxes option.
If you see the first printer offline, then right-click on it and choose Use Printer Online.
You need to double-click on the printer and then click on Cancel All Documents.
Shut the window and right-click on printer option.
Go to the drop-down list and click on Properties.
Next, click on Print Test Page.
If the test page is successfully printed then print a page from WordPad.
For this, you have to open WordPad and type something random.
Go to the File menu and click on the Print option.
Choose the printer and then select Print.

Step 2: QuickBooks Print & PDF repair tool

QB print and pdf repair tool allow you to resolve issues related to printing and PDF etc. You should have ‘Windows Admin permission’ to run this program on your system.

Step 3: Rename/Delete the Printer file

First of all, you need to find the files.
Then, rename the files as ‘qbprint.old’ & ‘wpr.old’
Now, Run QuickBooks and Open Company.
Next, select File and click on Printer Setup.
After that, select any transaction and click on Ok.
