New Years Resolutions, What are some of Yours.

Hello,

The year is coming to an end, for some of us it’s a good thing for others it depends on many things.  We as humans always have a desire to change some of our habits and what a better time to do that, then at the beginning of a New Year.

Every year we commit ourselves to making changes in our personal life’s, whether it’s losing weight, working out, reading more self improvement books, spending less money with our credit cards.

We program our minds to achieving these goals sometimes they last and most times our weaknesses set in and our goals vanish into thin air.

I am going ask a few questions to help our members who decide to make this Years Resolution become real and help them achieve them.

Do you have or do you make New Years Resolutions at the beginning of each New Year?

How do you maintain focus in achieving your goals in the New Year?

Why do set New Years Resolution if you already know that you will never achieve them?

Do you have any tricks that help you stay focus with your New Years Resolution?

What are some of your New Years Resolution this Year do you have any as of yet?

What would you like to really accomplish in 2008?

If you could change one habit of yours that would improve your over all performance what that be?

Do you honestly think you can achieve this goal of yours if you put your mind towards it?

Thank you for taking the time and sharing your thoughts, who knows we might just learn something today and how to apply it to ourselves and improve our out look in 2008.......

I wonder if there is a statistic somewhere that reveals how many of those who make resolutions really follow through?!

I for one , do not make them, so not in the stats! I just pray a lot and hope for the best.

I set many goals in 2007, and achieved many..and over achieved some (and didn't achieve some as well)! I just like to think of New Years resolutions setting a goal in making the next year an even better one. If you don't set goals...how can you achieve anything? Sometimes luck can be on your side...
My suggestion is to set goals that are reachable....take baby steps at first. You don't have to name them all January 1st....set a new goal every month...every week...or every day....
What ever is going to help you achieve them!

Wishing all of you the BEST for 2008!!

I have been around the block and run into it enough times to know that I will have only one resolution that I will make and keep.

It is a resolution that I make every single day of my life.

It is a resolution that holds as true today as it did 41 years ago when I first made it.

My resolution is to let life come to me and show me my future.

By being 'life' driven, I know I will achieve far more than I could possibly plan for.
I acknowledge that I am too imperfect to set a goal when I know, for a stone bonking certainty, that the goal-posts will be moved as each new day reveals aspects of circumstance that will render plans too irrelevant to persist with.
I accept that any plans I make can be changed at random by issues of health, family or other responsibilities.
I also accept that it is far better to have a direction in which to travel than try to define my destination.

Nope - no New Year's resolutions for this girl. Every year I make 'em, I break 'em.

Just the daily - "I must get myself organized resolution" - and as they say - the way to hell is paved with good intentions! LOL

I genuinly admire people who make resolutions, like giving up smoking or something positive and stick to it., but 1st January doesnt seem like the right kind of day for me to make them. Birthdays are better.

New Year's Resolution? Don't really make them, because one doesn't
stick to them for very long.

I think I'd just like to be happy and to keep learning new things - that just
about covers it all.

Hi Joseph

Reading your blog has really focused my mind on the whys and wherefores of making new year resolutions - or any time of year resolutions for that matter. In fact my immediate "resolve" might be to put my thoughts into my own blog.

Watch this space!!!!

Do you have or do you make New Years Resolutions at the beginning of each New Year?

I make them every year, but I've not been successful at it every year either, LOL.

How do you maintain focus in achieving your goals in the New Year?

Hmmm, well....this year will be totally different from the past, because the past is exactly that.....THE PAST! Gone forever! This year I will achieve what I want using organizational technics that I am establishing for myself daily, and keeping my mind totally focused on everything that is positive. I will NOT allow any negative thoughts to creep into my brain. LOL, I'll keep you informed on my progress! (giggles here)

Why do set New Years Resolution if you already know that you will never achieve them?

I set them to at least give myself something to strive toward.

Do you have any tricks that help you stay focus with your New Years Resolution?

No "tricks" so to speak, just that I get out of bed every morning and remind myself of a phrase I heard once.....it stuck in my head. I quote, 'If YOU can believe it.....YOU can be it".

What are some of your New Years Resolution this Year do you have any as of yet?

Haven't really made the Resolution exactly, just a thought in my head that I keep in the forefront of my brain continuously, with every second, of every minute, of every hour, of every day....from here on outward!!

What would you like to really accomplish in 2008?

Hmmmm, I'd love to pay off all of my bills and finally become financially independent. Keep me in your prayers if you say any at all, I intend to make my mark in 2008!!!

If you could change one habit of yours that would improve your over all performance what that be?

Stress eating!! I've had a LOT of stress this past year, but I'm working on getting rid of it! :o)

Do you honestly think you can achieve this goal of yours if you put your mind towards it?

Absolutely, positively! Without any doubt in my mind!

One of the realizations I have come to is that by helping others I help myself. Whether it is physically, financially, spiritually or emotionally. I will simply stick to that in the coming year, helping others.

Deede,

Thank you for your input............Hard to answer how you keep focus and on top of your goals..........l have also at times the same problem as most do...I think and know when l do set my mind to accomplishing goals l do set them. If l could tell you one thing that really works for me, is l review my goals and read them as often as l can on a daily base so l am always on the right road to accomplishing them...........best thing is to set small goals, once you have accomplished them it will provide you with new self confidence as well as a desire to set and achieve new goals baby steps helps you get self esteem and also provides you with confidence in acomplishing larger scale goals.

As in your case and mostly a lot of or people Debt seems to be a goal we all set on New Years, trying to elimanate it and get out of debt is a hard chellenge, but if you write out all of your debts on a piece of paper and attack each one with small payments and control your spending in other words do not use credit cards start using cash for most items you purchase and you will conqure that debt it is a very slow procees but if you do not take charge of it then you will only increase your debt load.............You really have to review it on a daily base, try to consolidate all of your debt into a managable payment that you can handle and with a low interest rate and concentrate on making that debt go away..........If you honestly believe it will go away and you apply simple but not easy steps you will slowly achieve your goal..................YOU CAN DO IT.................good luck and let me know how it is going or if you need information on goal setting l can help you ............Keep focus and good things will happen to you ..............

Start your day by saying this affirmation and you will start to believe it and you will see a drastic change in your life for the better..

I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING GOOD IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME TODAY........watch how the power of your mind takes and starts to achieve good things happening to you life everyday.............it works..........IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW YOU USE IT........

The question is how is it going so far............our we doing what we said we where going to do....................or has it already come to an END......................let's us all know how your doing so far with your resolutions.....................or goals...................

Let me tell you how my New Year Started, you would never guess in a million years....l am going to write or should say writing a blog on it. The hardest blog l will ever write......

Do you have or do you make New Years Resolutions at the beginning of each New Year?

Not really Cause I can't or never keep them False ideals I guess

How do you maintain focus in achieving your goals in the New Year?

Haven't a clue Help me!!!

Why do set New Years Resolution if you already know that you will never achieve them?

This is the first year I am going to really try Honest

Do you have any tricks that help you stay focus with your New Years Resolution?

Like I said I need help

What are some of your New Years Resolution this Year do you have any as of yet?

Stop smoking and failing miserably

What would you like to really accomplish in 2008?

stop smoking and lose weight Great combo that huh???

If you could change one habit of yours that would improve your over all performance what that be?

Cease smoking Other than that me thinks I am perfect LOL HAHAHAHA

Do you honestly think you can achieve this goal of yours if you put your mind towards it?

Oh gosh I hope so. Driving me crazy. It so hard to do

Thus far I have been up and down a million times going for a smoke. And it is only noon Oh the agony. Dying here.

I have made my bed, done the dishes, took bedding upstairs to redo them, loaded an aerobic workout tape and have completed about 10 minutes of it.
Brushed my teeth and used Scope already 3 times, ate a grapefruit and an orange.

Problem with the stupid eating is after you are done you want to smoke,

I am going crazy

Refuse to leave the house cause if I do I will end up in the store and we know where that will lead.

Trying real hard to keep a sense of humour and a positive outlook

Methinks I am losing an uphill battle. Not even through the 2nd day yet

Help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, 12th January at 00.05 and I have just remade my new years resolution.

Life is still driving me and I am rolling with the punches.

Having virtually lost the use of my right eye just before Christmas, some resolutions I might have been tempted to make were already virtually impossible to maintain by myself. I have a little more time before I will be banned from driving but I am only prepared to drive very short distances so my dogs can enjoy the countryside - I've become that great annoyance on the road - a slow moving vehicle that sticks strictly to the speed limits.
