Why Should I Consider Laser Refractive Surgery?

I have seen many patients with an array of reasons why they want to have laser eye surgery, from patients wearing glasses since they were a toddler to learning to drive and not wanting to have to wear glasses. As a surgeon people always tell me why they want to have surgery so I can really go through why you too should consider laser eye surgery too.

A lot of patients I speak prior to surgery find waking up in the morning (or night) such a pain, and trying to find their glasses before they could do anything else, but after laser refractive surgery they can wake up and see everything clearly straight away. Most prescriptions are now treatable with LASIK, LASEK, Wavefront and many more options. There is also no upper age limit as monovision laser surgery can correct both distance and reading prescriptions, meaning almost everyone is suitable.

Overall there are many reasons why you should consider having refractive laser surgery. If you decide to go ahead, you need to make sure you choose a good eye specialist clinic and a good eye surgeon too.
