Wasatch Academy Men’s Basketball team Ranked 45 in the Nation

When people think of boarding high schools, they think of a place filled with students who wear uniforms and only study particular academic subjects. Essentially, boarding high schools get painted as places that cannot compete in athletics. One Utah boarding high school is defying that stereotype on both a state and national level.

The Wasatch Academy Tigers basketball team is force to be reckoned with on the court. The team finished the regular season with 29 wins and only three losses. The team is ranked number two in the state of Utah, and is ranked number 45 in the nation. The city of Mount Pleasant, Utah brings in many members of the surrounding community to watch and cheer the Tigers on to victory.

Dick’s Sporting Goods National Tournament

The Tigers were just recently invited to the Dick’s Sporting Goods National Tournament that takes place at the end of March — a very respectable and well-known tournament that ends the regular season with a bang. Only a few high schools and boarding high schools are invited to the tournament. The best teams throughout the U.S. are hand-chosen for their performance throughout the year and to see who is the best of the best.
