Much like other parts of the United States, Utah has a close relationship with rodeo. While most folks associate Utah with sports such as skiing and mountain biking, Utah has a long-standing tradition of rodeo. One only has to get out to the country and small towns to witness the strong ties to the sport. Rodeos are held all over the state, and just recently West Valley City had the pleasure of hosting one. Spectators ranging from students in private boarding schools to senior citizens attended the event.

Continuing the Tradition

There is truly no better place to hold a rodeo than the American West. The West has the history and the traditions to keep rodeo alive for years to come. Since Utah is a part of the great western story, it only makes sense that so many rodeos are held there. The recent rodeo in West Valley City, a city located in Salt Lake County, drew spectators from all over.

The circuit putting on the rodeo was the Elite Rodeo Athletes. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that this circuit operates outside of the more well-known Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Students who compete in private boarding schools now have the chance to join another professional circuit whenever they are old enough. The Elite Rodeo Athletes stop in West Valley City gave Utah rodeo enthusiasts a chance to get to know another circuit. This rodeo gave the circuit some publicity as well as informing the public.

A Bright Future

As long as people ride horses, rodeo will be around for a long time to come. With so many circuits putting on rodeos, students in private boarding schools now have the chance to get involved quickly. Whether watching a rodeo from the comforts of home or out in the arena, rodeo provides fun entertainment and excitement for all.
