TOP-5 ski resorts in Canada

Canada's top ski resorts are mainly concentrated in Western Canada, British Columbia and Alberta, and to a lesser extent Ontario and Quebec. Whistler, just two hours from Vancouver, offers a world-class ski experience, from slopes to hotels, restaurants and shops. The interior of the BC offers several less visited stones with extreme terrain or family resorts. In Alberta, the ski resorts around Banff are among the best in the country. Ontario's Blue Mountain is a wonderful family hill located just two and a half hours drive from Toronto. In Quebec, Mont-Tremblant, known for producing some of Canada's most famous skiers, offers exceptional skis.

  1. 1.   Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb, recently acquired by Vail Resorts, is Canada's premier ski resort with world-class ski resorts. The combined landscape of these two mountains makes it the largest ski resort in North America. Whistler and Blackcomb are based on the enchanting village of Whistler. You don’t even need to ski to enjoy a trip to Whistler, but if you do, you will find a seemingly unlimited landscape that can accommodate any level of skier, from the first timers to extreme skiers. You will find beautiful wide open bowls on Mount Whistler and incredible well-groomed trails on both mountains. At Blackcomb, Horstman Glacier offers year-round skiing and heli – skiing.

 The famous PEAK 2 PEAK gondola, more than three kilometers long and the world's longest unsupported lift, connects both mountains. Skiers and skiers can enjoy this gondola ride for outstanding views of the area and the slopes. Whistler Hotel is located in the beautiful coastal mountains of British Columbia, just a two-hour drive from Vancouver.

 

  1. 2.     Ski resort Lake Louise

Lake Louise, in the heart of the Rockies and less than an hour's drive from Banff, is one of Canada's most famous resorts. From the slopes, majestic landscapes extend over the Luka Valley and the surrounding mountains and beyond to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Palace Bay. This is a mountain for all skiers, from extreme skiers to families coming here to learn about sports. In a resort with 4,200 acres of rocky terrain, the resort offers a combination of wide open bowls, steepness, trays and plenty of groomed trails.

 Lake Louise ski resort does not have a place on site, but it has fantastic daytime facilities at the base, as well as restaurants offering delicious dishes, as well as other restaurants in the mountains. Skiers can plunge into the nearby village of Lake Louise or the city of Banff.

 

  1. 3.       Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort

 Sunshine Village Hotel is located in Banff National Park, near Banff, on a sunny day. Gondola loads skiers from the parking lot into the village at the foot of the slopes. Climbing up from here will lead you to a run over a line of trees where wide open bowls offer unprecedented views of the rugged peaks of the Rocky Mountains. The mountain is skewed to intermediate skiers, with more than 50 percent of the runs falling into this category. Experts will find an impressive selection of extreme and advanced locations, especially on Goats Eye Mountain. About 20 percent of the resort is for beginners. This is a big hill for intermediate skiers who want to challenge themselves and go to the next level.

 Sunshine Village offers ski tours, ski walks, but many skiers prefer to stay in nearby Banff, which has the best selection of hotels, restaurants and shops.

  1. 4.       Great White Ski Resort

 Big White is famous for its stunning days of gunpowder, wide open views, an abundance of intermediate routes, as well as a good combination of a beginner and an expert landscape. This is a wonderful family resort with many convenient accommodation options, including skiing, skiing. The mountain offers 16 elevators and over 2600 acres of terrain. The views from the slopes are incredible. The resort is located in the charming Okanagan Valley, in the depths of British Columbia, near the city of Kelowna.

 

  1. 5.       Ski resort Revelstoke

 Located in the interior of British Columbia, about 2.5 hours from the city of Kelowna, Revelstoke is a little more difficult to get to some resorts, but worth it. The mountain sees a large number of powder days; few crowds; and offers excellent terrain, from open bowls to tree trails and novice areas. Add to this the low-cost accommodation options in Revelstoke; ski slopes, ski slopes on the mountain; and fabulous mountain scenery, and it's hard to beat this resort. There is no place for a glamorous five-star experience or shopping. It is a mountain of skiers and a great place for families.
