Ski selection

Downhill skiing
These skis are designed for lovers of dynamic skiing and perfect cut turns. They have a short rocker in a sock for easy initiation of turn and greater maneuverability, as well as a narrow waist for the fastest turning over. Carving skis are oriented towards skiing along well-prepared tracks - soft velveteen and even hard slopes. Cross-country skiing is created for a very wide range of skiers - from beginners to real experts.

Universal Alpine Skiing
As the name implies, these are multi-purpose skis ready to ski on the track, regardless of the state of snow on it - from hard and icy to shallow puff. This is ideal for those who are looking for one pair of skis "for all occasions." For those who ride most of their time along the tracks, but don’t give in to freshly fallen snow, which is easy to bury on classic carving models.
Most of the slopes are broken by skiers during the day, and snow conditions can change dramatically with the weather. A stiff velveteen in the morning can turn into loose porridge in the afternoon, and in such conditions it is much more pleasant to ride just on universal models.

Station wagons are distinguished by an elongated rocker on the toe, as well as a wider waist, which varies between 80-100 mm. At the same time, manufacturers are trying to keep the turning radius small for better maneuverability by proportionally increasing the width of the toe and heel.
It is logical that universal skis are often inferior in quality to specialized models for specific skiing conditions. But their universality of use in a wide range of conditions makes the category more and more popular.
It is worth considering that universal skiing is very diverse, and many models in their design and geometry still gravitate to a certain type of slopes and snow quality. Some are focused on skiing mainly on the slopes, others - on skiing outside the prepared slopes with a trip to the track, if the weather has failed, and the long-awaited puff did not fall out.
In their catalogs, manufacturers often indicate the direction of the ski through a numerical expression, or graphic. So, for example, the value 70/30 indicates that the ski is mainly oriented towards skiing, but allows the possibility of exiting it. The ratio may be the opposite, then we understand that we will feel comfortable in loose snow, but it is also possible to ride it on hard ice.

Downhill skiing frirajda
In this category, models were selected with a waist width of 100 mm, designed for off-piste skiing, requiring special training for riders not only in terms of skiing techniques, but also knowledge of the basics of avalanche safety. This skiing is for those who prefer deep grooves, jumping and risk to well-groomed slopes.
Since a real freerider must be able to ride well on any type of snow, such people have no less requirements for skiing than athletes. Alpine skiing for freeriding is not for beginners by default. They should be controlled in the virgin lands, in wet snow, in broken and icy areas. Different models differ in rigidity, geometry, design, but they all have the highest characteristics and are selected only in accordance with the individual characteristics of the rider.
Of course, in the category of alpine skiing for freeriding, there are also generalists. In stores you can find a lot of models of freeride skis, which you can quite well carve on the tracks.
The entire modern range of skis for freeriding can be conditionally reduced to two broad categories:
 - Powder Skis - skis for puffy fresh snow and backcountry freestyle.
- Backcountry freestyle - skiing with acrobatic jumps on a natural topography.
- Bigmountain Skis - freeride skiing in the big mountains. Also good for heliskiing and difficult descents.

Downhill skiing skitura
A very developing area in the ski world. This is a symbiosis of virgin snow and mountain walks, pure skiing, where there are no lifts, lines, crowds. The concept of skiing is quite broad. Classic alpine skiing involves skiing as a necessary element after a walk in the mountains. In the Russian understanding, skiing is more often considered as a way to get to unspoilt places for the sake of further descent.
Ski skis are lightweight for their width, and their design is adapted for installing a camus, they also require special mounts with the ability to switch walking / skiing. Skittel models differ markedly in their geometry. Depending on the tasks, they may be slightly wider or narrower. Wide versions are created for fans of off-piste skiing in chubby snow on slopes inaccessible from ski lifts. Narrow ski skis are focused on the use of multi-day routes, ski-climbing and skiing in shallow snow.
In general, for skiing you can consider almost any ski from the category of universal freeride, equipping them with mounts for skiing.
