Tips for you to excel academically

by Janvi Ahuja Content Developer,SEO Consultant,
The happiness and success of their children is of utmost importance to the parents and that is why they constantly worry about them doing well at school. And as students, giving your best to your studies and other extracurricular activities is your prime responsibility. So is there a formula which will help you succeed at your studies? In the end, everything comes down to your hard work and perseverance. But here are some few tips which can help you excel academically:

1.Paying attention in class
Paying attention to your teachers’ words in class is for your own benefit. If you find your mind wandering away in a Football field, last week’s rocking party, or anywhere else for that matter, make a conscious effort of bringing it back to the present. Focusing in class would help you really understand the subject, and save you those extra moments you would otherwise use to try and figure out the topic on your own. Homework wouldn’t seem so burdensome, and exams wouldn’t take a toll on your health. Focusing in class has numerous advantages, and not focusing numerous disadvantages. The choice is totally yours!

2.Taking notes
Paying attention in class is necessary but so is note-taking. Even if you pay attention, you may forget what was taught in class if you do not take notes. Just keep jotting down the important points briefly so that you can refer to them when in doubt. Note making became a habit when I studied in one of the public schools in Noida for a brief period of time. All our teachers emphasised on us taking notes and this good habit has helped me come a long way. You may want to try this too.

3.Do your homework regularly
Academic success is the result of a combination of different factors. Good teachers, valuable resources, and dedicated efforts- everything is important for you to succeed academically. Thinking that because you study in the best boarding school or the best public school and hence can take it easy is definitely not the right attitude you should have towards your homework. Consistent practice would help you to have a thorough understanding of your subjects and hence would help you score well.

4.Study regularly
Every single day we accumulate so much knowledge, that it is only natural that the human brain would not be able to retain 100% of the things. Unless you keep revising what you studied in the past, you are bound to forget it. Make sure you take out a day or two every week just for revision and see what a difference it makes.
