How to instill constructive habits in your toddler

In an age of cut throat competition to stand on the top, it is extremely important not to pressurize your child and expect unreasonable efforts from them. Children often succumb to extreme pressures in the academic sphere and feel stressed, which is quite unnatural for their age. A child needs to harbor creative interests and extracurricular skills in addition their academic needs. This herculean lifestyle is not impossible to achieve, if you instill the right attitude in your child from the very beginning. A child who is accustomed to constructive behavior and develops this as an inherent characteristic of their personality early on, is much more likely to not only cope with difficult tasks in the future, but also excel in them

Step 1: An excellent school

A lot of parents do not consider preschools to be of grave importance, and often choose play schools solely on the basis of location and proximity. It is important to be noted that preschool is the first encounter your child has with a learning environment; therefore it is extremely crucial that the atmosphere be worthwhile. A child who gets the hang of learning and socializing with peers is easily accepted in the top public schools. Parents are now carefully contemplating options on where to send their child, so much so that they are willing to send their children to distant locations even for day care centres. Noida has some excellent day care facilities, and parents want the best experience for their little ones even at such a small age.

Step2: A reading habit

A child who reads is generally able to focus more easily than those who don’t, popular studies have shown. Read to your child when they are too little to read themselves, and later on help them read books on their own, start with short stories, rhymes, so that they become fond of books, and develop a knack for literature. This goes a long way in building up their relationship with writing and public speaking, nurturing a sense of self confidence that will help them in every stage of their lives. You must not only focus on English though, because today a global world welcomes those who are fluent in several languages, make them read books in your mother tongue as well as other languages.

Step3: Developing a hobby:

It is essential for your child to adopt a hobby that goes beyond academics. You must however listen to them, ask them what they like, observe their interests keenly, and if it is still unclear, try several activities till your child finds their calling. It is a proven fact that extracurricular activities inculcate important life skills in a child; they teach them team spirit and the lesson to learn from failure. It provides them a respite from their daily routine. Extra-curricular activities are also seen as prized skills by colleges, when accepting students. Today many public schools in Noida and other areas of NCR train children in sports, music, dance, drama amongst several tremendous activities, they support your child to shine in their passion through competitions, clubs that can make them achieve national level merits.
