Three Strange Fertility Practices

by Joanne P. Health Enthusiast
Fertility is a fairly new concept in terms of terminology, but it's been around since women were giving birth. Back in the day, infertility was a supposed curse from the gods as a consequence of the family’s wrongdoings. But now, infertility is a genetic factor that affects 10% of the overall population.

You can say that infertility has come a long way in terms of how it is understood and treated. Fertility treatment has become so common and accessible that you can have fertility treatment in Davao City!

Here are some of the strangest fertility practices and traditions around the world

China's Bedroom Dragons

According to Feng Shui tradition, dragons are a fine source of male potency. Experts in the Chinese mystic art of spiritual interior decoration suggest that placing a dragon statue on your bedside table might help get things moving. Though don't go too big lest you lose sleep. It's just one of a handful of home manipulations that Feng Shui practitioners say could increase your fertility. They include not blocking front and back doors and placing a single piece of hollow bamboo in the corner of your bedroom like you're a panda or something.

Watering of the Girls in Hungary

In Hungary, and a variety of other Eastern European countries, girl-watering is a pre-Christian cleansing ritual meant to boost fertility in ladies of marriageable age. The ceremony, which happens on the Monday after Easter, is pretty simple: The ladies dress up in ritual garb, and the gentlemen pour water on them.

You don't necessarily need to be in Hungary or Eastern Europe to perform the watering. But you should probably warn your lady before you dowse her the first day after Easter.

Of course, there's no guarantee that any of these will cause conception to occur. But maybe a little adventure or ritual performed with your partner will renew your drive to make a baby happen. It can't hurt. At least, not like accidentally sitting on your boys because your undies are too loose.

Australia's Waterfalls

The Kununurra Waterfalls of Western Australia were recently made famous as a landmark of fertility after Nicole Kidman announced her pregnancy in 2008. She and seven other crew members that were on the set of the movie" Australia" fell pregnant after swimming in the lagoons of the waterfall. Kidman has told reporters that she believes her unexpected; miracle pregnancy may have been influenced by the time she spent in the mystical pools.

The actress's previous children were adopted between her and her ex, Tom Cruise. Her only baby by birth, Sunday Rose, was conceived with her now-husband Keith Urban when Nicole was 41 years old. The couple tells of a "blessed" conception, pregnancy, and delivery with nothing to complain about. The parent's even say that Sunday is a particularly "good" baby. They can't help but wonder if there were some unexpected benefits to Nicole's swim at Kununurra. Of the other six women from the set, only one of them had a boy, suggesting to them, a strong presence of the maternal kind.

Strange as these practices may seem, some people claim that they work. However, you may want to leave your infertility in the hands of modern-day medical specialists as IVF services in Davao.
