The Skate Park at Wasatch Academy
by Wasatch Academy Nationally Ranked Boarding SchoolWhen most people think of boarding high schools, they probably conjure up images of kids in formal dress in England or some other far away place. However, at Wasatch Academy, the staff and the students believe that having a world-class education and having a good time are not mutually exclusive. Perhaps nothing at the school exemplifies this better than the school’s top-of-the-line skate park.
Only the Best
It doesn't matter if it is academics or recreation, when Wasatch Academy does something, it only does it one way: excellent. The skate park is more than 1000 square feet, and is privately owned by the school. The features of the skate park are made from only the highest-quality materials, and the park is usually changed on an annual basis to make it more interesting for both students who are new to boarding high schools and those who are returning to the school.
This park is not your typical neighborhood skate park. Wasatch Academy has taken the time to ensure that park is built to the standards of the alternative sport industry. This means that while those using the park are from one of the nation’s top boarding high schools, they are practicing on high-quality equipment that could even help boost them to the professional level.
Multiuse park
As with most skate parks around the country, the skate park at Wasatch Academy is designed to accommodate several different sports. Of course the skate park is designed for skateboards to be used, but its design is exceptionally well planned. The academy also ensured that the park could accommodate students who enjoy the skill it takes to maneuver a BMX bike through the park.
While many boarding high schools offer only traditional
sports, skate boarding and BMX biking are just two of the extracurricular
activities available to students at Wasatch Academy. By making a myriad of
activities available, this not only helps students feel more accepted, but it
also allows students to lead a balanced life and explore new interests.
