Image Over the past few days I have received quite a few emails from good people who read my article on My Lead Company, thanking me for taking the time to do the research and expose this blight on the Internet landscape. I only wish I had been able to get the information out before many of them lost their money.

I know that some them might have been discouraged by the experience, and I wanted to encourage them by sharing my own method for obtaining qualified leads. You can build your own highly-profitable list. Here's exactly how I built mine.

1. You must have an autoresponder and email marketing account. I want to say this again: YOU MUST HAVE AN AUTORESPONDER AND EMAIL MARKETING ACCOUNT. Even though I have stressed this here and in other articles you would be surprised at how many people continue to resist this, and they continue to fail.

Is it because they believe an account with someone like AWeber is too expensive? Well, they would be wrong. You can start with $1 and after that it is $19/month for a 500 subscriber list. At some point you have to ask yourself why others are succeeding and you are not. Be honest. How much revenue did you generate this month? It's none of my business, for sure. You know the answer and that's all that matters. The best Internet marketers made money this month, and they did it by email marketing. Have you seen a campaign by John Delavera on APSense? Have you seen Anthony Morrison write a review page? No. I'm not saying that this isn't a worthwhile endeavor. I'm just saying that the pros email market and so should you.

Oh, and forget about reinventing the wheel. You cannot email market from your personal email address or harvest names that aren't opted-in. Oh, you can...but you will get Google-slapped with the quickness and your email account will be gone. Spam is taken very seriously these days.

2. You must build your list on your own.

The only way to get targeted leads, my friends, is the method espoused by the actor John Houseman in an old commercial. To paraphrase, "We get leads the old-fashioned way. We EARN them." Buying leads is always a bad idea

There are a variety of ways to capture opt-in leads. I use several. I give away books on my websites, etc. One method that I am using at the moment which is working very well is HERE. It is not mandatory that you do it my way, but you must do it some way. This method just makes the process easy, especially if you do not have a website.

This is how you begin to build a highly-profitable, converting list. If anyone tells you something majorly different, they are trying to sell you a pocketful of magic beans.
