Rodeos You Should Attend in Summer 2016
As spring comes to a close, students and families look
forward to taking a break and enjoying the warm summer months. As you are
contemplating summer activities and planning trips, there are several rodeos
that you should consider attending — and maybe you can turn your vacation into
a staycation. Here are some of the top rodeos you should attend this summer
with your family.
Just 45 minutes north of Salt Lake City, you can find
yourself enjoying the rodeo in Ogden, Utah. There are several rodeo events to
attend, but the one most people find themselves going to is the Ogden Pioneer
Days Rodeo. It is generally held closer near the 24th of July to celebrate the
Utah pioneers, and you can find students from
boarding high schools competing in these rambunctious events.
In the heart of Salt Lake City you can find yourself a seat
at the Days of 47 Rodeo in Taylorsville. The event also celebrates Pioneer Day,
and the event is generally held on the 24th or a day near it. You can also find
adults and even students from boarding high schools competing during these
events.
If you are looking to get a serious tan, you can travel down
to Cedar City, Utah and find various rodeo events down there. There are a
couple of championships held that could be incredibly fun to witness. With so
many different rodeo events to choose from, you can find events that specialize
in different areas amongst different ages, ranging from students from boarding
high schools to pro riders.
Another popular rodeo to take your family to is held in
Spanish Fork, Utah for the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Rodeo. Come celebrate the
cowboy lifestyle and enjoy a fun rodeo with plenty of different treats to eat
in June.
Rodeos are an extremely good time, and they are also family
friendly. There are so many events that you may even see children participating
in that brings on fun and a lot of laughs. Rodeo events can even include
students from boarding high schools here in Utah. Generally students from
boarding high schools don’t ride in rough stock events such as bareback horse
or bull riding, though they do compete in roping and barrel racing events.
What are you waiting for? Take advantage of your summer as
much as possible and make sure to leave some room in your calendar for a rodeo
or two. You may never know how much fun you will have at your first one — it
may encourage you to come back.
