Marvel Can’t Beat Logan, MCU’s Wolverine Needs To Be Different

by Natalie Atkinson I'm a web Developer

Hugh Jackman is the key character in all the X-Men movies, and he has played the role of Wolverine. In all the X-Men films, Jackman is often known as Logan. X-Men series is another best and long-running successful series based on the Marvel comics. For a long time, Wolverine is the most famous character in the history of mutants. Logan has also achieved great fame and massive popularity over the years among the fans.

Hugh Jackman’s first appearance as Wolverine/Logan was seen in the film X-Men which was the first part of the X-Men series. This film was directed by Bryan Singer and released in the year 2000 starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He got to fit into the role of Wolverine so beautifully that people became a huge fan of Jackman and his adamantium claws.

Marvel should have a completely different approach to the Wolverine character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to make a Wolverine movie better than Logan. However, every fan of MCU was in doubt about what Marvel would do with the mutants if they had the right to cast them, but this question was answered after a deal of Disney with Marvel. According to this deal, Marvel can now include the characters of Fantastic Four and X-Men like the Thing, Human Torch, Wolverine, Magneto, and more. In Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel could plan to make movies on Fantastic Four and the X-Men.

Marvel can introduce the new characters to the MCU even before making any movie with them. For example, Marvel can introduce some of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men characters individually like Storm could be seen in a guest appearance in Black Panther 2, and the Wolverine can play a small cameo in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We have to wait and watch how MCU will portray the character of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine because he is a top-rated actor with huge fan following and popularity. Logan’s success can make him play a significant role in the MCU.

Marvel Can’t Beat Logan As A Wolverine Solo Movie

Logan was a blockbuster superhero movie of the year 2017. It was directed by James Mangold starring Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine. It was a high grossing movie worldwide at the box office. The plot of the story revolves around a female clone of Wolverine/Logan. Hugh Jackman played the role of an aging Wolverine, and he struggled a lot to protect that young clone from a group of villains chasing her.

It is nearly impossible for the MCU to make a Wolverine movie which is capable of beating the film Logan because Logan is completely a different character which has never been depicted by Marvel yet. However, Marvel can try their best to make an excellent film with Wolverine, but still, it will be hard to compete with the one made by Fox.

Marvel Needs To Hold Off On Introducing Wolverine To The MCU

Marvel is planning to introduce Wolverine either in Falcon and the Winter Soldier or in an X-Men movie. Marvel has to consider the importance of Hugh Jackman to the character role of Wolverine. Jackman has played the role of Wolverine over fifteen years, and therefore he is settled in the role of Wolverine completely. To replace Hugh Jackman with someone else for the role of Wolverine, Marvel should wait to reveal Wolverine instead of creating their new character.

Marvel Needs To Make The Other X-Men As Important As Wolverine

The X-Men group includes many different heroes according to the Marvel comics, who have not been considered in the leading roles yet. Some of them were seen in the X-Men franchise, like Storm, Professor X, Mystique, and more. There are several other heroes whose impact on the big screen was not enough, like Angel, Cyclops, etc. The reason behind this tale was somewhere Wolverine because he was the main character around whom the whole story-line was centered. According to the first X-Men trilogy, people felt that the lead role of this film was given to Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men heroes are just playing the supporting characters. Marvel did not commit this mistake in their movies. For example, Even though Robert Downey Jr. who has played the role of Iron Man in the MCU was the main character but still Marvel managed to show the importance of other Avengers as well, like the role of Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and more. In the same way, Marvel should consider the new upcoming X-Men members in the MCU by showing the importance of each member in their way.
