Social networking websites are undoubtedly a hacker’s paradise and a new variant of online worm named ‘Moose’ is infecting routers in order to fraudulently gain access to your accounts on social networking sites. This worm is shrewd enough to hijack your internet connections and like, view and follow posts, pages and accounts without letting you know about it. The most heavily targeted social networks are Instagram, Twitter and Vine.
How it Works:
- Moose worms are principally targeting linux-based routers, SOHO devices which include home routers running on MIPS and ARM architectures e.g. routers made by Actiontec, Hik Vision, Netgear, Synology, TP-Link, ZyXEL, and Zhone.
