Don’t let scammers take your advantage!

Whether it’s about purchasing your daily groceries or your favorite gadget, on the Internet, it’s just a few taps for buy something. Undoubtedly, e-commerce websites have completely revolutionized your shopping experience, but there’s a flip side to it as well and online criminals are deriving the most of your shopping spree.

Cybercrooks have devised a tricky way to con you by making you click on malicious links that appear to take you to legitimate shopping portals. They are flooding the shopper’s inboxes with authentic-looking order confirmation emails that appear to be from Walmart, Target, and Costco, among others, to lure unsuspecting shoppers to their fake websites. The motive behind driving these unwary shoppers is to install malware on their systems and thereby hack their machines.

How they work?

  • Out of the blue you may receive an email from a big brand retailer, informing you about the recent purchases you made online and telling you that your order is out for delivery.
  • As this is all bogus, you will be puzzled and out of curiosity you will click on the link to check further about the order. Read more...
