Whether it’s about sharing a photo or connecting with your old school buddies – Facebook is heaven for every person who loves to socialize. And, with 1.49 billion active users, it’s undoubtedly the hacker’s paradise as well. With the hype over Facebook launching a Dislike button or an empathize button, hackers have also got active to make the maximum of this situation.

Cyber crooks are trying to ensnare unsuspecting users by conning them into believing that they can be one of the first users of Facebook’s Dislike button just by taking a survey. They are cashing on users’ excitement for the Dislike button as a window of opportunity to steal their data or hack into their accounts. Instead of getting such a button, you’ll be told to share the link with all your Facebook friends, as well as add a comment. The next webpage will urge you to sign up for a premium rate mobile phone service, complete an online survey or buy some pills.

  • The scammers’ goal is to drive more traffic towards certain sites. They trap you in fake survey scams to make money.
  • They take commission for every survey completed, every product purchased, and/or every account compromised.
  • They also use the hacked accounts to spread malware and obtain personal information. Click here to read more.
