FOLLEY BALLOON CATHETER

Foley was scientist who invented this device hence it is called Foley catheter.

The device is intended for being introduced in the vesicle cavity through the Urethra in order to provide drainage and/or flushing of bladder. It is a boon for the patient who is bed ride. 

The balloon in the catheter is to self-retain catheter in the body of patient hence it is also known as balloon catheter. Foley balloon catheter is of two types 2 way FBC & 3 way FBC. 2 way FBC is used for draining or flushing out urine from the bladder and 3 way FBC is mainly used during bladder irrigation or cleaning the bladder with medicine or injection during any type of urinary tract infection treatment, these are the two main differences of 2way catheter and 3 way catheter.

NULIFE® Foley balloon catheter is made from Natural Latex Rubber. The Foley catheter is smooth at the tip so that there is easy insertion of catheter in the organ of the patient. It is always advisable to apply lubricant on the Foleys catheter so that there is less urethral trauma. Catheter is coated with special silicon protection to assist in smooth Introduction and prevents encrustations. As the Foley catheter is made of Latex and remains inside the body, due to which there is high risk that the body can react to the foreign body causing to inflammation and irritation but in the NULIFE® Foley balloon catheter this problem is minimal as the whole catheter is silicon coated and silicon does not react with the body.

Lumen of our Foley balloon catheter is big enough to let urine drain out fast enough. The taperless shaft is extremely flexible and bends easily in any direction to adjust to the patient’s anatomy.

It has pressure resistance balloon which can be easily inflated and deflated. The Valve allows inflation, deflation and locking of the air inside the balloon. It is also available in soft and hard valve.

Proper design and placement of drainage eyes assure maximum flow and prevents bucking of tip during insertion of catheter.

Drainage eye at tip of the catheter is smooth and even in size to avoid encrustation & allow easy flow of urine.
