Best Place To Exercise: Gym or House?
When are you planning to cross out “fitness goals” on your bucket list? How many summer had passed since you promised to have a beach body? Yes, it can be frustrating to not achieve or even start your way towards fitness, but nothing will really happen if you keep on making excuses.
If you think you can’t go to a gym, why not do it at home instead? There are a lot of exercise routines you can try at home, even without gym equipment. Now, ask yourself, is exercising at home and doing it by yourself the right choice?
Here are some things to ponder:
Motivation
Let’s admit it, most of us would rather lay in bed than do planking on an exercise mat. If you have this kind of mentality, then working out at home is not the best choice. Moreover, food is more accessible at home; once you get tired, you will end up eating whatever you want right away. Whereas when you’re at gym, your focus will be on the exercise routines, less distraction and temptation.
Guidance
Online exercise video instructions are uploaded daily, you can choose from a wide variety of it, until you find the right fit. Watch it at home and follow all the steps, and rewind it as often as you want - perks of being in control. At gym, there are instructors (you can opt to hire a personal trainer), who can guide you properly and give you tips on how to do each routine the right way.
Time
Travelling is time consuming, plus you have to carry your gym outfit. If you do it at home, no need to think about time and outfit. You can exercise whenever you want, for how long, basically you have full control of your time.
Variety
When you’re at home, you may have all the time and online resources, but gyms have the latest equipment to support your fitness goals. Yes, you can buy these gym stuff, but your home can never accommodate all of it at once. Setting up your own at home can be space consuming and costly. So, doing it home can leave you sticking to routine exercise.
Cost
Gym membership vs. buying gym equipment for home setup, which one do you think is more cost efficient? Yes, it is good to invest on stuff you can own but you must consider its long term value.
Think about the perks, privileges included in gym memberships.
Now, which do you think fits you?
