ACEVIVI Best Back and Neck Pain Relief - Acupressure Mat and Pillow Set
ACEVIVI Best Back and Neck Pain Relief - Acupressure Mat and Pillow Set - Relieves Stress, Back, Neck, and Sciatic Pain - Comes with a Vinyl Carry Bag for Storage and TravelThe pillow steals the show,
After over a month of ownership, the following are my condensed findings that you’ll hopefully find of some use:
- The products come in a vinyl see-through carry case ‘for storage and travel’. Upon arrival my vinyl carry case was ripped in a number of places, so rapidly found itself in the bin. Even if it hadn’t been ripped, I fear it may have ended up that way fairly soon, as it was thin and not all that substantial.
- The mat folds up, but there is nothing to hold it in its folded-up state. A small velcro string that you could wrap around it would have been great to have attached to the side of the mat for example. I realise this is why there is a vinyl carry case, but I’m obviously without that now!
- Both products are essentially a piece of foam, placed inside a material housing (that has the white circular parts attached). The foam on the mat is secured inside with velcro, and with a zip for the pillow. Both methods of securing have caused no issues.
- The overall quality of the product is very impressive, and I’d suggest better than you’d expect when paying circa £16. The material feels great, and the white circular parts are all securely fastened to the material with no issues of them starting to peel off with usage etc.
- A small amount of background, I have a herniated lower disc in my back, and have regular acupuncture, so was extremely curious as to how this would feel/work. I’m not even convinced the acupuncture I have truly does anything, so I’m what you might call a sceptic!
- I’ve used the mat numerous times. First time I used it, it was painful to initially get on, I lay there for around 10-15 mins and the pain slowly drifted away and it was fairly relaxing. Peeling myself off afterwards, however, was a most unpleasant feeling, and caused a decent amount of pain! This was followed by a solid 15-20mins of quite a substantial burning sensation in my back that wasn’t entirely pleasant! However, with more frequent use, these painful experiences certainly reduced as I got more and more used to it. When I have back pain, it certainly takes my mind off it, if only with pain! It does feel somewhat relaxing, but not as much as I had hoped.
- The pillow I’ve got on a lot better with. I sometimes get headaches where it feels as though it’s caused by tension in the neck and shoulder muscles. For this, the pillow is brilliant. Lying on it for a few minutes can feel utterly relaxing, and take a lot if not all of the pressured feeling out of the muscles. It’s not a magic pillow, as it won’t just zap away the pain, but I would say it definitely helps - especially at providing immediate relief to stressed neck muscles.
- I have also tried walking on the mat with bare feet (something I’m sure was recommended somewhere, but I can’t find it now, so don’t take my word for it!). I’m sure I read that this was supposed to be good for headaches etc. Well, I after a few weeks of ownership I had a killer headache, so rather skeptically I stepped onto the mat. It’s painful. I walked up and down for a number of minutes until my feet were politely asking me to cease all action. Needless, to say I still had a headache, and it didn’t seem to really do anything - it was a lovely (if somewhat painful during the first try) massage for my feet!

—— CONCLUSION ——
So there you have it, I’m a big fan of the pillow as it really does relieve stressed neck muscles; and not the biggest fan of the mat as it doesn’t provide as much relaxation and stress-reduction as I had expected. From reading other reviews, it would appear that everyone has varying degrees of success, as another review preferred the mat to the pillow!
For me, the pillow is the real winner here, it is SUPREMELY comfortable (just don’t turn your head, as it’s a killer on the ears!).
Seeing as how the mat doesn’t quite live up to what I had hoped, and the carry case was damaged on arrival (and in my opinion, wasn’t substantial enough anyway), I believe four stars is a fair rating.

OVERVIEW
✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚✚
Would I recommend this product to a friend? Yes.
PROS:
✓ The pillow steals the show by relieving stressed neck muscles, and being wonderfully relaxing
✓ Both products are very well made (surprisingly so for the price)
CONS:
✗ The carry case was broken on arrival, and in my opinion, wasn’t substantial enough to do its job anyway (a small string/velcro attached to the mat would have been a great addition to keep it folded up)
✗ The mat just didn’t do everything I was hoping - and certainly not everything the pillow did
NB:
- First time out of the mat, the whole experience was painful to start with, reduced in pain during, and then was extremely painful when peeling myself off the mat!
