What would Colonel Sanders do?
I left this comment on a fellow APSenser's Rev Page but I though it was something that everyone needs to hear. From time to time we all run into the "dream stealers" They can be friends, family members, associates, or even potential customers. What they are are the people who say we are wasting our time in our efforts to make a better life. They're not always mean spirited, many times they are concerned for our well being and think they're looking out for us. We have to cut through this fog and stay confident in ourselves. Remember, Colonel Sanders created Kentucky Fried Chicken because he was told the road going past his gas station was goining to become an 4 lane interstate highway with tons of traffic. It didn't happen, they sent the highway through a different part of town. What did he do, complain and quit? No, he moved his whole operation to the new highway.

You are correct Phil. There are probably thousands of stories like this; i.e. Fed Ex was a school project my a student at Harvard Business School, and heard the teacher gave it an F saying it could never be implemented, LOL!

No, sadly he has passed, but he has left a legacy behind. He was one of the first marketers to "brand" himself. Being from the southern part of America, that still cherishes it's "Gentlemanly" ways, he was always wearing a white linen suit and a gray-haired goatee. This became his trade-mark. He didn't make his first million dollars until he sold the compnay at 65 years young, later buying it back out of bankruptcy, re-inventing it and then selling it again, this time to Coca-Cola.

I was wondering what the article was about, great headline, Kevin, you forgot to mention he tried to sell his recipe to hundreds if not thousands of restaurants, they all said no, so he started the business to sell it by himself, or something like that :)

I am Dutch and I saw Kentucky Fried Chicken in America on a vacation but did not know the story behind it of Colonel Sanders. I think I would like this colonel (if still alive?). He had the right mindset: a passion and the endurance to make it happen no matter the obstacles. Thanks for sharing this.
