What would Colonel Sanders do?
I left this comment on a fellow APSenser's Rev Page but I though it was something that everyone needs to hear. From time to time we all run into the "dream stealers" They can be friends, family members, associates, or even potential customers. What they are are the people who say we are wasting our time in our efforts to make a better life. They're not always mean spirited, many times they are concerned for our well being and think they're looking out for us. We have to cut through this fog and stay confident in ourselves. Remember, Colonel Sanders created Kentucky Fried Chicken because he was told the road going past his gas station was goining to become an 4 lane interstate highway with tons of traffic. It didn't happen, they sent the highway through a different part of town. What did he do, complain and quit? No, he moved his whole operation to the new highway.

Not true Philippe, there are some small differences in taste. Some are because of use of local products. But in general american fast food tastes the same all over the world. And we love it! Otherwise why would it be so successful?

Yes Kevin, collect all the informations you got here and make an article out of it! AND let me know! My Like is quaranted! And Philippe in earlier time, when traveling the world, when arriving at a new place I haven't been before and didn't know, I always was looking for the Golden Arch. At least I knew what I would get. Only the next day I started to ask and look for local food. AND OH WONDER I'm still white :)

Eric, I applaud you for working first, then becoming an MBA. Too many do not follow that route. The professor too, many of them are afraid of the business world. They hide in their ivory towers and profess what they they were taught, nothing practical, only theory.

@Cheryl: I don't know in the States, but over here the Golden Arch is becoming green. They smell the ecological money. They replace the arch and refurbish their restaurants on by one.
@Kevin: The problems are not the MBA's. The problem is the way they became MBA's. Most of them never hold a job at all before becoming an MBA. All they now since Kindergarden is school. MBA's are told, to lead a company one doesn't have to know what the company is about! I say that's BS.
Believe me Kevin, I know

I know I read the story and now when I google it and I can't find no mention of it or maybe it was just story through the grape vine and I only thought I read the story.
But, the story was on Kentucky Fried Chicken being sued. I forget which state this took place, but as I recall. A customer asked, is this chicken I'm being served come from Kentucky?
The lawsuit was over the fact of Kentucky Fried Chicken serving chicken that was not raised from Kentucky and the person won the case and awa

Well, Edison took 1,000 tries to create the lightbulb. Kevin, time for the1st try at creating the Black Cherry Wisniak. Maybe you could rename it Black Cherry Wozniak, then Steve Wozniak would finance your efforts. LOL

Glad you're here Rona. @Cheryl I know what you mean by the Black Walnut. We had a local soda compnay called Frank's Bevergages, who made a great black cherry soda call Black Cherry Wishniak, it was awesome. Frank's was bought out by Coke, bye bye Black Cherry Wisniak. I wish I had the recipe, I'd give Coke a run for their money, LOL

It's amazing that you should write about this because I was just thinking of the importance of staying connect with people that can build you up and not tear you down. When a person discourages you, it is a clue that maybe that person would be better off connected with someone else. It’s a good thing, the Colonel did not give up cause I love some KFC. You guys are really funny, I enjoyed reading your post. :)

@Kevin you can still occasionally find a Howard Johnson's motel, but the restaurants seem to have disappeared. Back home our Howard Johnson's did not do a very good business on the Ice cream because of a local Ice Cream parlor called High's. But B&R Did finally run High's out of business too. I haven't had a decent scoop of Black walnut ice cream in 20 years. Thanks a lot Baskin & Robbins!

@Cheryl yes, they were know for many flavors of ice cream, before Baskins & Robbins started doing it. In the movie it said "1 flavor" and we all laughed, now it would be "huh? what's that mean?" Times change, HJ couldn't fend off the competition. People were driving less, flying more. That might be changing back now with flying being a pain and getting more expensive.

There is an expression in French, "le boss des becosses", which translated means, the outhouse boss ROFL

It was a chain of motels and restaurants. You always knew Howard Johnson's because they had an orange roof. If you have ever seen the movie Blazing Saddles they made a good joke about it. When the were building the fake town they said the were going to recreate everything, right down to the orange roof on Howard Johnson's (Character in the movie) outhouse.
Please do not ask me to explain outhouse.
