See Inside the Human Body at Arizona Science Center
Looking for something really different to do with your friends and family that will get you out of your Phoenix homes? Head on over to the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix for a close up look at Gunther von Hagens' BODY WORLDS & The Brain. This exhibit has toured the world and has been seen by more than 30 million people. But the Arizona Science Center’s exhibit will be a revamped and an all-new version. Viewers will get to see the human body via real samples. The exhibit is open through May 30, 2011.
Guest at the museum will view the awesome human body via Hagen’s Plastination process that he developed to preserve organs and tissues. There will be actual donated bodies and tissues. Those who are squeamish may want to avert their eyes, but those with an inquisitive sense of scientific discovery will enjoy the once in a lifetime chance to see how the body functions up close and personal.
The exhibit is far from gruesome or macabre, it is in fact a celebration of neuroscience and the things that have been learned about how the brain works. JP Morgan and Chase are sponsoring the event that will draw audiences from far and wide. More than 200 specimens will be on display and the exhibit will foster a better understanding of how disease and good health are represented in the body.
The museum also features an IMAX theatre and planetarium as well as over 300 hands-on exhibits and four floors. Permanent exhibits include My Digital World, the Forces of Nature, Music Landing, Get Charged Up Gallery and the WONDER Center. Every exhibit is educational as well as fun and interesting for kids and adults.
Tickets can be purchased at the museum or in advance at www.azscience.org. Groups are encouraged to visit as well.
The Arizona Science Center is located at 600 E. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ and is open every day from 10am -5pm.

Thanks for this, Russ! I haven't seen an exhibit like this yet, and though I'm in the eastern portion of the U.S., it's great to hear about it. In New Jersey, we have locations similar to this type, like Liberty Science Center, and they are worthwhile visits to explore the mind and more. Good share!

I saw something similar to this in NY a few years ago. It was a presentation that toured the country. It had human bodies that were presented in different stages. It was fascinating to see.
