My thoughts about APSense Talents
I think the idea is great, both for people that want to earn from their talents, people that need to outsource tasks and for all APSense members that now can earn money simply by pasting the code for the APSense widget on their site.
However I have some reservations for some of them. In regards of determination of quality of service and payments.
I.e.
The admins of APSense review purchased talents that are rated unsufficient. Since I know most of them pretty wel I know they are all integer persons that will perform this task in a fair way. I would interest me to know what criteria they use to determin if a bad rated talent is legitimate or not. It seems to me there are a lot of talents in a grey area, also because the descriptions are in my opnion often poor or incomplete. I would not like to be in an admins shoes for this particular task.
However many talents are only 5 dollar so it is a small risk to take to purchase one. It is often also a question of trust. The risk will become smaller when the service is online longer and there are more ratings.

- translations: suppose i would purchase a translation from English to Chinese? I would not be able to determin if this translation is correct. LOL it would have to ask Wincer to proof read. Unless the persons that offers is a certified translater. Anyone can make translations with an online translator. I can't see the difference between a translation made by a person or a machine if it is a language i do not know at all. If I would put a bad translation on my site, this would reflect negative on me.
- designwork: when somebody creates a design for somebody else, regardless a banner or a website, the designer puts time and effort in it. But taste is a personal thing. The one who purchased the design can say: I don't like it. Which would not be fair to the designer.
I think therefore in design jobs that are offered, designers must write clearly what information they need from the person that want to purchase this talent like colours, size, theme, text, etcetera. The designer should in my opinion state his/her visions what happens if the purchaser does not like the design.

APSense makes it simple as any other site.
The first, new member (seller) only can sell talent in low price ($5.00) due to their honor points are very low.
Also it means the low risk of losing money on buying talents.
On the other hand, the talents at higher price are posted by honorable members. You may trust them than others. Also they agree to refund your order if you are dissatified with their work due to the TOS of talents.
This is how we design APSense Talent.

I really like this section, but I do not know what my talents may be useful to other people

The main things I would do to shape up the system for the long haul are to both add as discussed a method to show work samplings including as required by some of the types of offers links to the functional website, and a report offer button with field for explaining the report.
A prime example is one offer to submit your business listing to the author's site with 40,000+ members. The Ad is a fraud, the SMF Forum shows over 40,000 member profiles as stated and 20,000+ articles and post but the

Yes Neville. I have no doubts at all about their integrety. But I am glad that I am not in their shoes.

Paula, there is no doubt about the integrity of the Admins who will be doing the unenviable task of dealing with claims of uncompleted tasks
I trust that the task will no become so challenging that they resort to abrupt, or insensitive reactions, as I have seen in response to a couple of questions asked about the Talents feature.

In relation to payments, I wonder how many of the $5 to $10 micro-job sellers are aware that their payment can only be paid out when their APSense account reaches $50. If any of these sellers are not using other methods for building their APSense account they will find that they have to complete more than 10 of these micro-jobs.

Thanks Corey. Allthough I think that not eveybody would require samples of referrals, especcially not newbies. That is the reason I wrote this srticle.

A lot of what you have indicated in your article Paula is no different (at least in Canada) than regular everyday ways of operating a business.
Proposals offered or put forth, samples shown and approvals met, agreements made then the exchange of funds per the agreed upon terms and proof of delivery of services.
I would assume that anyone hiring and issuing payment for services rendered would want to see samples of their work or have referrals prior to entering into the contract to proceed
