Official - Suggestions to APSense

by Kristian H. GOT Team Cofounder
Kristian H. Professional   GOT Team Cofounder
The last few weeks, we have had many users posting and submitting suggestions to us all over the site and our emails. This is why we decided to create this subject, where everyone can post their suggestions to APSense all in one place.

PLEASE NOTE:
We always appreciate and encourage your suggestions, however we will not debate about them in public. We will include all suggestions to our list and will consider them if it is possible and beneficial to APSense as a whole.

Thank you for you support and making Your APSense the #1 Business Social Network!

I don't know, Kristian. Your idea is certainly practical, and probably a lot easier for APSense to handle; but I have enjoyed some of the debates regarding suggestions and will probably miss them. I think the debates should give you a better idea of what your subscribers want. Is it the "topping" and "dropping" debate the reason for this idea? I thought it was a great debate and I enjoyed. Maybe I'm just weird.

THANK YOU and the other founders for creating Apsense!! I cannot tell you how much I enjoy and benefit from this site! Hits at my "off Apsense" web sites have increased dramatically since I created my ABC! I have made a number of good contacts from all over the globe that I really appreciate! And I thank Lynn for inviting me here.

My only suggestions at this time would be:

1. private groups are allowed the option to eliminate the Drop feature within their group,

2. A little more space in the Sig Link.

Thanks D

Being an APsense member only a few days leads me to my first suggestion for the APsense creators. You have what i feel is the most innovative site on the internet. My suggestion is go slow with changes. As the ol saying goes 'If it ain't broke don't fix it'. Just a wonderful network that i am truly proud to be a part of.

Hi Rusty,

Don't quote me, but what i think Kristian is saying is APsense Management won't debate the ideas, i'm guessing its a good thing for members to debate...

Welcome to APsense Gary...

Suggestion:

Would it be possible to automatically eliminate the Multiple "Re:'s" from Mail replies ?

So instead of reply subjects looking like - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Hi!

Its simply - Re: Hi!

Thanks, Eric. If you're right, then I misunderstood him. The debate we had on the "dropping and topping" subject was successful and they're dropping "dropping!" *Grin. I'd love to see more debates like it by the members. Not only is it educational about APSense and fun when lots of members join in, it gives you a chance to get to know the members better in a companionship setting and where they're coming from.

P.S. The more I learn about APSense the more awed I am by it.

Hi Kristian,

Nice to see a place added for suggestions . And it certainly makes very real the ApSense advertising statement that the Community will be member led.

I interpreted your comment the same way as Eric has done - that management wont publicly debate. That sounds correct and professional to me. i am happy that they read and listen and consider the points they read.

However it is great that the members can discuss and debate. Although I too understand it would be easier to have the discussions in one place - sometimes it is good to have the freedom to discuss things where they spring up. And regrettably some people feel more comfortable posting outside the official Group. And some of the recent debates have been fun and we have got to know each other better through them. And they have produced some interesting ideas too.

I dont think this is a bad thing for ApSense. The ApSense Group has NECESSARILY some very strict posting rules because of its sheer size and because it is the Group's Group. Sometimes people find it easier to post their views in smaller and less restrictive places, and as long as they are not negative places, or breaking the Community Rules - i think that the two can coexist perfectly. That way ApSense Direction gets the best of both worlds.

Saludos
Jenny

Personally, I like the idea of the suggestion all being in one place. I think also it is right and proper that managment don't get involved in public debates. I have yet to find a single time when management have not listened to the members here at Apsense, and I see no reason why that would change. Putting suggestions in one place just makes life easier for all concerned. Everyone can see them, and add support or not, so everyone will know which are most popular.

Hi Jenny,

Yeah, i would agree. It is very professional of management here to take ideas on board without publicly debating them.

I sometimes get the impression from some topics that some are looking for a "pat on the back" from management for coming up with an idea rather than mentioning a thought that might improve a members experience... it takes all kinds i guess...

Hi again,

i just couldn't resist adding this thought.

San - yes it would be lovely to have everything tidily in one place. But on the Official Group?? LOL

Some of us come from countries which have been or are dictatorships. And some of us are just plain rebellious. "Official" sounds like rules and regulations. or working for the Government! LOL

Kristian - i personally promise that I will try to post any serious suggestions for improvements etc on the Official Group. But please don't stop us from having the Unofficial Ones as well. As long as they don't break any rules - they are great fun and produce all sorts of good ideas too. I am sure there is room for both here.

lol...

Juenelle,

I was talking about some topics started in the "APsense group" actually. I looked at your blog as a "Petition" (group) as opposed to an "idea" (single).

Sorry for the confusion...

Suggestion:

Would it be possible to have an "Unread" or "New Replies" line of text next to topics (within groups) that we haven't read or that have fresh replies...

This way we could go through groups answering and responding to questions without having to wait for a notification from APsense Express about a reply...

Hi Kristian,

i would like to suggest that when we answer a question we don't have to link a blog, sometimes for the sake of arguement I knew a gardening answer but do not have a blog on the topic. How about just an answer?

This subject is very good idea because:
1) Social networks are somewhat alive structures which means (from my perspective) that users can cooperate in developing - if not - network will slowly died, for sure - who want to be a part of something if nobody listen your advices????
2) Users are coming from many other sites and networks so they saw some features which could be useful here
3) Social network MUST evolving, if not, it doesn't grow.

Some suggestions:
1) to create a club not only subject about suggestions (maybe a kind of developing corner). Why? Users can suggest improvements of many things and to avoid confusion you could have a separate subjects/sections/whatever for Busines Center, Grups, Blogs, etc...
2) to formed kind of body or let's say group of most experienced users/admins which will decide about suggestions - approval - which will go to developing center
3) one suggestion for Busines Center Exchange: It could be without voting - to avoid - bad manners of somebody who could give you bad voting without reason- Also, traffic from Business exchange could be shared between apsense and users who surf through Business exchange - like in classic Traffic Exchange networks - personnaly think that this is very good idea ;-))) because I don't see any social network with traffic exchange - If apsense have it this could be big + and benefit if you compare other social networks

In regards to the "watchlist"

Would it not be a good idea to have a "Select All" button and a "delete" button so we wouldn't have to go through each individual post to remove them

I would like to see video networking come to apsense. There are a lot of good videos on just about every subject that we could link to and send in response to questions. Maybe someone could start a group to show people how to do this...light bulb time!

I have a question? Why is it when someone you send a message to here on Apsense, if the person you sent it to deletes it. It is deleted off of yours?
Example I send a message to Jeunelle, and then she deletes the message it automatically deletes out of my sent?
That is a feature that needs to be changed! :0) I don't care if the person deletes my message, but I don't want it deleted out of mine!!

Hi there

It would be grat to have the Spanish Language ApSense back. When it started it was bilingual spanish/Englist and had started to get a great bunch of spanish speaking networkers on board.

Now they are gone!!

As the second most spoken western language - a spanish alternative seems like a great idea and nowdays it is crazy to miss out on this enormous community when it comes to business.

Any danger of it coming back?

Jenny
