When Will Android Users Be Able to Voice Tweets

by Nishant Gujjar SEO Executive

Twitter has announced the voice tweets feature, but it is available to the users of iOS devices currently. It seems Android users will need to wait for some more time.

The microblogging and social networking platform, Twitter has introduced a new voice tweet feature that will allow the users to use their voice for dictating Tweet threads entirely. The new feature is currently available for iOS device users and not for the users of Android. However, the company has not yet said anything about the arrival time of the feature of iOS devices. Amidst all, it is not surprising that the company is giving priority to one operating over another. As it is common for Twitter to do such things and that too during the launch of some new features.

The latest voice tweet feature can potentially change the way people interact on the microblogging platform in a very significant way. For example, the newest voice tweet feature will allow the users to record their message in audio form. It will also enable the users to file a personal audio message for a much longer time across the microblogging platform. Apart from these changes, the new voice tweet will also change the way the users receive such audio recordings and how to answer it when they have to listen to it and not read. But, how the popularity and frequency of the new voice tweet feature will depend on its accessibility. Currently, The new feature is accessible to only iOS device users and not on other platforms making it less available to many.

While announcing the accessibility of a voice tweet feature, the company only mentioned iOS users. It did not say anything about introducing the feature on Android devices. Besides, the company announced they would make the new feature available to iOS users within one week. So, the Twitter users who have the iPad or iPhone can receive the latest feature very soon. Before that, they will need to prepare their devices along with updating the microblogging app on their devices. The Twitter user uninstalls and then reinstall the latest version of the Twitter app on their devices.

Why Android Support is available for the New Voice Tweets

Currently, the new voice tweets feature is not available for Android users. While searching for the reasons behind this step, it seems Twitter is willing to roll out the new feature only on some limited devices. So, it will become easy for the company to test the settings of new voice tweet features in the real world. It will also give the company enough time to analyze the new feature with the help of feedback and response of the users. After getting the feedback and response of the users, the company can further make necessary tweaks in the feature. It seems Twitter has taken a lesson from the heart feature of Instagram. Instagram introduced its heart feature on some limited devices, but after receiving negative feedback from the users, it pulled its function back.

The approach to launching the new feature on a single operating system is very common among these companies. Several examples can be seen over the few years when many companies, including Twitter and Instagram, opted to limit access to the new features. For example, currently, Twitter has also introduced a warning feature asking its users if they can read an article that they want to share. The function read before you has been launched exclusively for Android users. The support page of Twitter makes it clear that they wanted to ensure the reliability of the feature.

Meanwhile, it is not clear when the company will roll out the new feature on Android. But, the support page of Twitter has confirmed that they are currently working on the ways to add the new feature to more platforms.  It can be concluded that Android users may also get the new feature; however, they need to wait a little longer.
