by Balakrishnan David Content Marketer

Tamil Nadu has a rich heritage of history and culture which has been and continues to prosper for more than 2,000 years and that equally applies to weddings of Tamil Chennai Bride. This huge cultural identity of the state of Tamil Nadu developed during different stages of history by the rule of the empires. In so many of the royal families, art and culture were hosted and developed into a distinctive Dravidian cultural identity with which Tamil Nadu today represents.

In the area of art, architectural design, and literature, underneath the dominion of the Pallavas, Cholas, and Pandya Kings, enormous growth and progress have been achieved. The Tamil language has a history going back to 500 BC in the age of the Tolkapiyam, as mentioned in the Tamil Grammar text. The findings of the Sangam dates from 500 BC as well.

In every other nation's progress, culture plays a key role. A nation's culture symbolizes its values, objectives, practices, and common convictions. The Indian culture was never rigid and therefore in modern times, it survives with pride.

Matrimonial sites in Chennai enable marriages which are one of the important cultures which combine various religions, such as Hindus, Muslims, Sikh, Christians, etc. The Matrimonial Services in India were traditional marriages and a series of complex and colorful rituals, not only delightful but also very relevant to the life of the bride and the groom around each other.

Marriage Culture & Customs:
The Tamil Nadu region has diversified marriages. No single wedding style is observed for Chennai matrimony brides. The various classes follow various marriage traditions. However, there are certain styles or rituals which all classes follow. In specific, the best part of wedding ceremonies would be that all marriages are held in the early hours of the morning.

The groom plays a massive role in the prepping of most Tamil weddings enabled by matrimony sites. For a clear reason, most Vedic mantras are said. The possible explanation is to be happy and peaceful in the lives of the couple.

Wedding Rituals:

 MangalaSnanam -
The wedding hour commences in the early hours of the morning. The ritual of Mangalasnanam is kept on the groom and the bride independently. Sumangalis or married women produce a paste of turmeric, Chandan, and Kumkum. They use oil mostly on the hair of the bride/groom and massage the paste on the face, hands, and feet. After the ceremony, the bride and the groom take a cleansing bath to purify their body and spirituality with holy water. They will then be prepared for the marriage ceremony.

● Gauri Puja -
This is a ritual that only the bride performs. On a platform with Kumkum and rice would be mounted an idol of Gauri deity, who symbolizes purity, austerity, and righteousness. After dressing up the bride, she offers a quick ritual to the Gauri idol, desiring to live happily with the couple.

● Kashi Yathra -
The groom’s party arrives at the place for the marriage and the groom grabs, an umbrella, and wooden sticks, and maybe some food go to Varanasi or Kashi, revoking all worldly findings. The bride's father then takes him away from the wedding lobby and makes him view the virtues of the household rather than the hermit one.

● Kanyadanam -
The bride's saree end is connected to the angavastram of the groom. The bride's mother then needs to apply kajal to the eyes of her son-in-law, and the father of the bride wipes his feet. The bridegroom is regarded as representing Lord Vishnu through such ceremonies.

The groom is then sitting at the designated place on the ground. The bride's father sits opposite the groom. The bride sits on the lap of her dad and coconut is kept on her palms. The father of the bride embraces the hands of his daughter and offers the groom the coconut together. The bride's mother keeps pouring sacred water over the coconut during this period.

● Saptapadi -
The bride and the groom hold one another's hands and walk seven times all around the holy fire. The priests who describe the seven sacred promises of marriage are singing védic mantras. This tradition is the symbolic start of the journey of the pair as a married couple. The bride is then holding the left toe of the bride as she crosses a grindstone. This symbolizes metaphorically the strength of their union.

Final Words:
The pair attends the bride's paternal home three days forward to the wedding. They are very enthusiastically welcomed to have a good lunch. The mother and father of the bride give the clothing and jewelry gifts. In this way, all marriage celebrations end. Opt for Reddy Matrimony in Chennai, and ensure stable marital unions for your beloved son or daughter.
