What Are Breast Cancer Treatments Available?

by MrMed Pharmacy The Best Place to Buy Cancer Medicines in India.

In cancer care, doctors specializing in different areas of cancer treatment—such as surgery, radiation oncology, and medical oncology—work together with radiologists and pathologists to create a patient's overall treatment plan that combines difference. This is called a multidisciplinary team.

A cancer care team generally includes a number of different specialists. For instance, there are nurse practitioners, physician assistants, oncology nurses, social workers, pharmacists, counselors and nutritionists. Especially for cancer patients 65 or older (4 out of 10), a geriatrician - also known as a geriatric oncologist - may be included in the care team to ensure the best.

As a cancer patient, there is a treatment team that will help you through your cancer journey. These are the doctors, nurses, therapists, and technicians who work with you to fight your disease. You may want to ask some questions about how they communicate with each other and the types of things they do with your treatment plan.

The common types of treatments used for early-stage and locally advanced breast cancer are described below. Your care plan also includes treatment for symptoms and side effects, which is an important part of cancer care.

  • Surgery
  • Radiation Therapy
  • Chemotherapy
  • Hormonal Therapy
  • Targeted Drug Therapy

Surgery

Surgery is a surgical operation that the body's affected organ or tumor is removed. A surgery oncologist is a specialist who deals with cancer and performs surgery for it.

Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy uses an ionizing form of radiation to damage or destroy diseased cells and tissues. These can be administered by a specialist in radiation oncology, who specializes in giving cancer treatment with radiation.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is the use of drugs to destroy cancer cells, which may be given before and/or during surgery to shrink a large tumor and make it easier. It also reduces the risk of recurrences. When it is given before surgery, it is called neoadjuvant chemotherapy. It may also be given after surgery to reduce the risk of recurrence, called adjuvant chemotherapy.

Hormonal Therapy

Hormonal therapy is an effective treatment for most tumors that test positive for either estrogen or progesterone receptors. Hormonal therapy can be highly effective against breast cancer, especially if it is given as hormone therapy, or after chemotherapy. It prevents recurrence and death from the condition. Tab Letroz 2.5mg shall be given in combinationwith other breast cancer therapies to prevent the risk of recurrence.

Targeted Drug Therapy

It includes various types of drugs like trastuzumab,Palbociclib, ribociclib etc that produces precision effects such as preventing the development of blood vessels within the tumors.
