Sure, heat and humidity could turn your tea steel, and storing it in the fridge is a better option. However, matcha powder tends to absorb any strong odors quickly, and the fridge is abundant with such strong orders that you may find your tea tasting like your leftover foods. A better way of handling this is why encompassing this powder in multiple layers of airtight protection, such as using a Ziploc bag and then putting it inside of an airtight container.

  • Store it in a dark space

Chlorophyll gives any plant its green color. However, Matcha tea is a special variety of green plants that are grown in the shade. As it takes a longer period to mature as a plant, it produces higher levels of chlorophyll which gives it the electric green color. Therefore, it is advised that one should store their Matcha powder in a dark place or dark container, which is not clear. Exposing it to life could produce a metallic taste.
