Mistakes Most Job Seekers Do During Interviews

by Ilink Global RECRUITMENT AGENCY
When job seekers receive an invitation to a job interview, it means that the company has seen them as potential candidates based on their academic qualifications, skills and professional experience. What this means therefore is that they have one shot to prove that they are as good as they claim in their CV. They should however remember that several of them were called for the same interview meaning all of them are qualified so the interview is what will differentiate the wheat from the chaff.

Luckily, there are recruiters Fraser Valley job seekers have used in order to prepare them for the interview process and help them point out some of the mistakes to avoid during interviews.

So today let’s look at some of the mistakes they can avoid during an interview that may look small but are very important to consider.

Lack of Preparation. Most recruitment companies or HR personnel will invite a person for an interview days before the interview date. Some will even ask them when they are ready to go for an interview. So, going to an interview ill-prepared is not excusable.  Job seekers should know that what is standing between them and their chance of landing a job is their preparedness for an interview.

They fail to articulate their achievements. Job seekers should not walk into an interview with modesty when it comes to their achievements. They should not hold back but talk proudly about their achievements in relation to the position they are interviewing for. This is a one chance to show their employer that they are achievers and have the right skillset.

They try too hard to impress. Everything done in excess is a killer and so is trying too hard to impress your interviewer. For one, they might feel intimidated by your trying to show that you are too knowledgeable. Let everything come naturally and they will be impressed by your effortless nature.

Being overconfident. Just because a job seeker has been selected for an interview out of a possible hundreds of other applicants should not be a reason to be over confident or think and feel so highly of themselves. Overconfidence is what will kick them out of the race faster than anything.

Job seekers should not talk negatively about their previous employers no matter how mean and cruel they were. They should find a polite way to explain the reason for leaving their employer.

Job seekers should seek advice from some recruiting companies Vancouver for more tips on how to conduct themselves during interviews if they in doubt of their interview skills.
