How to Happily Start Morning Day Routine

by Successisdecision Blog Success is decision

How you start each morning has a huge impact, positive or negative, on the rest of the day. By practicing a healthy morning day routine, you can increase productivity, reduce stress, increase happiness, and more.

Too many people wake up each day with a deluge of responsibilities that end up dictating the course of their morning. If you have children or pets, you must take care of them. Most people have morning chores, making breakfast, getting ready for work, etc. But the truth is, when you start a healthy self-care routine, you'll be better prepared to tackle everything on your plate each morning and will get success.

Below I share some of my own healthy morning habits, as well as tips and tricks for creating a routine that sticks and what to do when you fail. Some of the habits of my routine will be familiar to you, others will not. As you read, keep your own lifestyle and health goals in mind so you can create a morning routine that works best for you.

Let’s understand the importance of morning with SUCCESSISDECISION

1. Set your alarm clock to work for you, not against you

In order to have enough time for self-care in the morning, set your alarm clock a little earlier and go to bed earlier.

The first step to a good start to the day is to adjust your sleep pattern so that you have enough time in the morning for yourself and your tasks. If your kids get up at 6:30 in the morning, it means you should get up before them. Or, even if you don't have kids or pets to care for, if you tend to get up at 7am only to rush out the door at 7:30am, it's time to start your day earlier.

Like I said, sleep is important. If you set your alarm clock to wake you up earlier, you should also set your bedtime so that you go to bed earlier. Sleep deprivation isn't healthy, so aim to get at least seven hours of sleep.

2. Breathe in the new day

Unfortunately, for many people, the answer is “pick up the phone.”

If that's the case for you, how many minutes do you spend every morning surfing the internet and building up your stress based on what you find on the news, on social media, or in the messages you receive at night?

What if you made it a rule, before picking up the phone, to take six long, deep breaths to focus your attention on the power and bliss of your own life force?

• Use your breathing to reduce stress and achieve more satisfaction

Since the diaphragm acts as the central breathing and postural muscle, diaphragmatic breathing not only helps you positively focus your mind, but also prepares your body to support movement and good posture.

3. Drink water before coffee

Rehydrating with a glass of water in the morning can boost our metabolism by up to 30%, research has shown.

Because we lose water through breathing and sweating during sleep, we often wake up thirsty. Considering that an adult human body is made up of 60% water, staying hydrated is essential to good health.

Drinking water first thing in the morning not only helps you rehydrate, but research has found it can boost your metabolism, boosting it by up to 30%.

4. Move your body in all directions

Have you ever thought why do we stretch in morning when we wake up.. Our bodies crave exercise after being sedentary. Why not channel that instinct towards being as productive as possible? It helps to relax your body.

Instead of just doing a quick stretch in bed and then going about your day favoring your dominant side, adjust and prepare your body for daily activity by moving it through all planes of motion and engaging both sides of the body evenly insert.

You can do this with a quick yoga practice or a 10-minute bodyweight workout.

5. Plan a room for training

Maybe you can't get a full workout in the morning. No problem. You can sneak in by adding it to some of your morning habits. For years I've been doing push-ups before showering and doing squats while brushing my teeth
