  1. Never Turn It On:- After being drenched; your device will turn off automatically and refuse to turn on. Again don’t panic, or try to turn it on manually. If the device is turned off, it means that the water has reached inside the device and fiddling with will cause more damage to it.
  1. Take The SIM Card Out To Avoid Further Damage:- The aim should be top avoid any damage to your SIM card, and the best way to prevent it is to remove it as soon as the device shuts down. Also, when you open the back tray, leave the slot open to dry off.
  1. Never Blow Dry Your Device:- Many owners do this to dry off their devices quickly. But little do they know that this does more harm to the device than good. The hot air from the blower heats up the inner parts to unbearable degrees and makes your phone hardware more prone to sustained damage. So, rather than overcompensating, give it time to dry.
  1. Give It A Good Wipe:- You can use a dry absorbent piece of cloth wrapped around a pin/toothpick to soak up any existing water from the charging port, SIM-tray and earphone jack. But do it gently keeping your device stationary.
  1. Use Dry Silica Gel Packets To Dry Your Device:- Despite wiping off the device exterior, there could still be a chance that some moisture may exist within your device. So you may need to resort to other measures such as using dry silica gel packets available in any major stores.

They assist soak up the moisture with minimum contact on your device. You can put silica packets over your device and allow it a few minutes to absorb all of the moisture properly.
