How to Create and Delete Folders on iPhone

Creating and grouping apps into the folders are the best way to reduce clutter on iPhone home screen. Create a separate folder for your games, music app, messaging apps and make them easily accessible.


Here is how to create new folders and grouping apps into them:


Steps to Create a new Folder on the iPhone Home screen


Create a new folder on your iPhone’s Home screen to save space and categorize apps.

1.    Open your iPhone’s Home screen.

2.    Touch & hold on an app icon to enter into the edit mode. Icons start jiggling and remove button appear on it means you’re into the edit mode.

3.    Now, select the app you want into the folder.

4.    Hold and drag one app icon over the other app. At least two apps are required to create a new folder.

5.    Take the app icon to the edge of your iPhone screen to go to the next screen.

6.    When you’ll see folder interface option release the app icon.

The app icon merges into the other, and a new folder will create immediately.

7.    Click the ‘X’ button of the name field to change folder’s name.

8.    Select a name for your folder from the suggestions.

9.    If you want to give a name out of suggestions, touch on the ‘Folder’s name’ and edit it.

10.    Press the ‘Home’ button to quit from edit mode.

11.    Again the press ‘Home’ button to go back to the Home screen.

Steps to make a folder with iTunes

1.    Hook up your iPhone with a PC.

2.    Open your iPhone by clicking on ‘iPhone icon’ near the top-right corner of the iTunes window.

3.    Click on ‘App’ from the left side pane.

4.    Click and drag the one ‘App’ icon over the other to create a folder for them.

Steps to relocate or remove apps from the folder on iPhone Home screen

If you’d put an app into the folder by mistake or add a wrong app into the folder, you can also take out the app from a folder to easily access.

1.    Touch on the ‘Folder’ from which you want to remove the app.

2.    Touch & hold the app icon you want to remove to enter into the edit mode. Icons start jiggling and remove button appear on it means you’re into the edit mode.

3.    Keep hold & drag the ‘App’ icon out from the folder.

4.    Move and locate the ‘App’ icon as you want on the Home screen.

5.    Press the ‘Home’ button or click ‘Done’ to quit from edit mode.

Steps to delete a folder from iPhone Home screen

Deleting a folder is reverse of creating a folder, simply take out all the apps from the folder to completely delete a folder.

1.    Touch the ‘Folder’ you want to delete.

2.    Touch & hold the app icon to enter into the edit mode. Icons start jiggling and remove button appear on it means you’re into the edit mode.

3.    Hold the app icon and drag the ‘App’ icon out from the folder.

4.    Move and locate the ‘App’ icon as you want on the Home screen.

5.    Similarly, remove all the apps from the folder.

6.    Press the ‘Home’ button or click ‘Done’ to quit from edit mode.

As you remove last app icon from the folder, the folder will delete automatically. That’s it! Group apps according to categories, functioning, and type and access them quickly without swiping over a barrage of endless apps.
