Five Common Myths About Campus Recruitment

by IV S. Consultant

If you are a job seeker or a recruiter, you already know about campus recruitment. However you could opt for an online portal or app that provides the best platform for companies and job aspirants to find each other. Such a platform provides a skills assessment test and other forms of campus recruitment assistance for the right match! Meanwhile, here are five common myths about campus recruitment that you should steer clear of:

Myth 1: Recruitment on campus is the easiest way to get hired.

Choose a free online platform or an app. It serves as a platform for recruiters and aspirants, and saves time, energy and resources. You can take up a skills assessment test the forum provides, and get hired easily. Campus recruitment is only one option, not the only option.

Myth 2: Getting hired by a large reputed firm at a campus interview kickstarts your career.

The role at a large or famous firm may not exactly be the one that suits you or aligns with your strengths. Choose a firm where the job profile or description is in line with your career goals. Seek campus recruitment assistance from an online platform and you can identify the right job for you, which may not necessarily be a large firm or brand.

Myth 3: Campus recruitment is organised and scientific, and the best option.

Whether you are an aspirant or a recruiter, you should know that campus recruitment is a huge logistics exercise, and in the melee, a company may not exactly spot the right talent and a job seeker may not get the right firm to work in. Campus recruitments can often be done in a hurry. On the other hand, an online platform gives you the space to get your skills assessed and showcase them well.

Myth 4: A campus recruitment interview/screening is the best way to assess a student’s talent.

Recruiters and job aspirants may think campus recruitments are the best way to spot the right talent, but sometimes, an online forum may serve students and recruiters better. As a student, you can upload your video resume, showcase your strengths and be given a score. The recruiter can rely on these parameters to assess your talent better.

Myth 5: A good/successful campus interview means you are getting a job offer soon.

You may be a step closer to the job you want but it is no guarantee that you have already landed that job. Explore other methods of job seeking. If you are a recruiter or a firm, you may want to hold that offer and explore a better fit for your company. The best way to do that is to opt for a mobile app or online form.
