CRYOGENIC VACUUM PUMPS: Working and special features

INTRODUCTION

Cryogenic Vacuum pumps generate high vacuum by entrapping gaseous substance on cold surfaces known as cryopanels but it is effective on some of the gases only. Cryopumps are generally used to with other pumps to block contaminants.

WORKING

Cryopumps are cooled by using the compressed helium, liquid nitrogen etc. They are equipped with helium compressors. These compressors deliver high-pressure, oil-free helium gas to cryogenic refrigerators.

Baffles are attached to the cold head of the Vacuum pump to expand the surface area available for condensation. But this also increase the radiative heat absorbed by the cryopump. Over time, the surface eventually saturates with condensate and thus the pumping speed gradually drops to zero. Gases remain trapped as long as it remains cold, but it will not condense fresh gases from leaks or backstreaming until it is regenerated.

Cryopumps are usually only used in high or ultrahigh vacuum systems as saturation happens very quickly in low vacuums

·        Self-sealing gas couplings allow easy connection of all required

·        Components such as cold head, compressor and flex lines.

·        Compressors are available with water cooling or air cooling. These water-cooled, high-power compressors

·        Achieve an uptime of up to 30,000 hours between maintenance Intervals.

FEATURES

  • Pump range is available in nominal sizes from DN100 to DN1250
  • HSR design reduces cool-down times
  • Higher cooling power, Higher capacity and superior performance on second stage
  • Optimized design enables operation in process temperatures up to 3500C and high gas loads in the same time
  • Low vibration cooling system
  • Closed-circuit operation (No need for continuous gas supply)
  • Patented geometry ensures outstanding up-times and short regeneration times
  • Highest manufacturing quality

APPLICATIONS

HSR Cryo-pumps are high vacuum pumps, renowned for providing clean and outstanding vacuum in a very reliable manner. They find extensive use in:

  • Thin-film coating systems
  • Space Simulation chambers
  • Sputter equipment
  • Fusion test systems
  • Particle accelerators
  • Thermal coating systems
  • Metallizing equipment

CONCLUSION:

These cryogenic vacuum pumps are such a great industrial equipment that makes the life of industrialists easy. Now, having said that these cryogenic vacuum pumps. These cryogenic vacuum pumps are equipped with long operating periods between necessary maintenance breaks provide for high availability as well as seamless and cost-effective operation.
