by Prakash Ravi Digital Marketing Executive

INTRODUCTION:

Indian weddings are an extravagant phenomenon and the bride and groom are expected to look their best! All eyes on the bride and the groom is quite immutable. The pressure on the bride and groom to look good is tiresome and exhausting. Tackling the subject of how to dress for a groom on your wedding day doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Once you know whether your wedding will be white tie, black tie, conventional, novelty or customary, a good next step is to brush up on the topic of how a suit or tux should fit. I love that our men are now able, and wanting, to put their own stamp on their wedding day style. But with this increase in choice comes an increase in pressure to get it right, which can be daunting – especially for the groom who is happier in a sports kit than a suit! Thus, here are few tips and ideas for a groom to select an attire for his wedding day.

If it is going to be a black and white wedding then, a tuxedo or suit is an ideal choice. Long gone are the days where a groom’s only option is the traditional morning suit or tux, accessorised with a pocket handkerchief and cufflinks. Now there are various add-ons that will make you a stunner. You can also pair it up with waist coats or braces. They give more of a relaxed, rustic and casual wedding look. Match them to the shirt or suit for a smart subtle look, or be daring and choose a contrasting colour to the suit but match them to the ties, shirt or shoes.

The bow tie is the epitome of vintage chic for any gent! Fashionable since the 18th century choose from floral, velvet, tweed or even sequinned for a smart look with a hint of fun. To spice it up a bit you can also sport hats or cravats.

If it is going to be a traditional Indian wedding then the groom clothing ranges from kurtas to sherwanis

You can go with traditional kurta salwar that gives an elegant look. Due to its various designs and patterns, this dress can be styled beautifully for both formal and informal events. You can wear embroidered silk or cotton kurta shalwar for your sangeet or haldi ceremony. You can also sport classic red sherwani or fashionable dhoti kurta or royal kurta churidar. If you are looking to wear something that is classy and modern at the same time, then achkan will be a perfect choice for you. The difference between achkan and sherwani lies in their length and fabric. Achkan are made of more lighter and finer fabrics, such as chikan, linen or jamwar. Thus, it makes a better choice for your summer wedding. Embroidery on an achkan depends on its fabric.

Or you can also sport Indo western ethnic wear with Nehru shirts and jodhpuri bandhgala suits.

Conclusion:

Apart from these, it is highly essential to match your attire with your bride’s and the theme of your wedding! You should also accessorize your wedding dress in such a way that it highlights your features. Most importantly, always pair it up with right shoes or slippers based on your wedding costume.
