The Sad Reality, Effect Gas Prices Has Had!

I wrote an article on this topic here back in 2008 and l will share that article with you.  This has a totally different effect on reality, currently with this "Crises" that is occurring at  a very rapid rate.  When you review my article, you will fully understand why l choose the word "Crises".

If you are honestly as concern as l am, with what is going on with "Gas Prices" and how it has effected, changed our daily life's.  This is absolutely on called for, how much is enough, for the greediest speculators on our planet who are investing heavily into future option on crude oil. The sad part is they have absolute zero emotions to the people they hurt, families that got destroyed because they could not afford to drive there vehicle like they use too.

This is what you have created, families can not afford to drive their kids to sporting events.  How do l know this both of my kids play and have been playing Rep sports for a very long time, both in hockey and soccer.  This means, a lot of driving them to practice, games home and out of town.  Then you have the cost factor of Hotels, meals and every day means of enjoying what you have worked for.

Parents are now taking their kids out of sporting events, for one reason they can not afford to drive them to games.  This of how that parent feels, how that child is no longer able to enjoy her/his friends any longer...........cause mom and dad can not provide...........How sad is that............Did you looked at this way............we had three kids pull out for the above reason...

So to all you who are enjoying your greed right now, think of the kids dreams you have destroyed,,,,,,,,,,,enjoy your meal, cocktails, and you always tip large.......why cause it is not your money............your a shooter......big time loser in my books.....

Please review this article l wrote back in 2008. it will honestly blow your mind what you will hear and see.  You will never respect what is going on.....This is all base on facts, by one of the top experts in this field....

The sad part is that people still don't get it. A couple of months ago I got a food laugh at someone wondering why since the price of of a barrel had dropped the prices didn't got down at the pump.

The still don't understand that the price of gas really has nothing to do with the price per barrel and everything to do with the price that the speculators agree on charging. That gas station owner is not the one gouging you, in reality he's only clearing pennies on the gallon. Why do you think all the 'free standing' gas stations all began rapidly closing shop after the gas crisis of the 70's and convenience stores like 7-11started carrying gas?

The pump outside is bait to get you inside where the store really makes their money off of the inflated prices you pay for 'convenience'.

Hello Cheryl,

Your absolutely correct, they has zero control, all that owners is a poppet with strings attached to his inability to nothing but try to run a a business that he has no understanding and why this happening...............The greed factor is out of control.............when you listen and watch that video The Non-Energy Crisis by Lindsey Williams, you have a total different perspective on the speculation on crude oil and the effect you have had on their every day life...............

Thank,...........YOU,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,let's spread this article.............for one reason only we all feel the pain.....

here in the UK it is the taxation on fuel that is crippling both business, and social motoring
with a gallon @ £6 +/-, $9 approx and £0.64 in the pound is taxation
Excellent and eye opening articles Joseph thanks

I am sorry but I can't comment on this article because of the potty mouth words that would come out and might offend some people.

Okay... so, I'll make a comment and keep it clean.

The gas prices are ridiculous and now they are asking for tax breaks, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME". Like one lady asked "WHERE IS MY TAX BREAK"!

PAIN, PAIN oh my... some people have to convert to other sources to make money just to pay for the gas to get to and from work because I don't get paid enough to put gas to get to and from work for 2 cars. We have had to sacrifice certain things just to put gas in the cars and we haven't even started soccer season yet.

We are hurting bad and we need to do something about it... But WHAT????

As Sean states above, in the UK we are paying the equivalent of about US$9.00 per gallon and it keeps going up. Government taxation on tha US$9.00 equals about US$6.30. Makes no difference who we blame; speculators or government, the price isn't coming down and unless there is some action from the UK public as there was 10 years ago when the price was 2/3 of what it is today we will all be taxed into oblivion.

There is a theory that the easiest way to govern a mass of people is to ensure that they stay at home. Seems to me that as crime rates spiral out of control so you daren't go out on foot, and gas prices rise so you can't afford to go out in your vehicle, the government has an easy job to do.

The UK people all cry, "where are the fuel blockades like THEY had in 2000?" Simple. The government legislated against the haulage companies and truckers and said that if you do it again we will take your licences away.

So in simple terms people you have a choice. You can either sit at home moaning about the prices OR you can get out of your armchair and join a blockade protest in your area, because they sure as hell don't happen on their own. They need YOU to join them to be of any use in pressuring the government to something about the taxes.

Nice article Joseph. The price of gas is crazy to say the least. I know in Canada where you live it is near $9 US/gallon and in the UK it is near $10 US/Gallon. I guess we need to have solar cars in order to survive in the future. It does not seem that the prices will go down until the oil companies decide to do so. Unless the US starts producing oil we all will be slaves to the middle eastern and other global oil producers.

As long as the oil companies can get away with gouging us they will. and the only thing that will get their attention is a good swift kick in the wallet. Like all corporations the only thing that gets their attention is a loss of profits.

We call it a good old fashioned boycott. The problem is that boycotts call apart when people start feeling the pinch, they do not persevere.

It is sad for the consumers all the way around the world. Do not forget about the inflated diesel prices affecting the freight on consumer goods that are also inflating everyday and the packages are getting smaller. Excellent article Joseph.

Hi Kent..... the sign is funny. I'm thinking that the comment about helping to refinance homes to help with gas pricing... if only we were able to refinance our homes to get any money out of it. I'm afraid that's simply wishing thinking at this time.

This is rather sad, in the first quarter one of the biggest oil companies recorded 34 billion dollars in profits, but even bothers me more is they are getting subsidized by government grants how gods name did they qualify for this...........something is drastically wrong here......how much is enough, it will be an interesting up coming week see what the President of the USA, handles the up coming meetings with all top CEO of the major oil companies.....

They have a lot of explaining to do..............and they should have since they are raping the consumer beyond our wildest dreams............more like a night mare........if you ask me..

Oil companies are just like banks. People are suffering a lot and they have huge profits every year. When they announce it it sounds almost profanity. Unfortunately that's the money religion talking.I think we could be so much ahead in the so called clean energies if it wasn't for big oil companies power. I sold my car, I never enjoyed driving. But I feel very isolated in the city where I live because public transportation is inefficient. Sometimes people JUST have to use a car. It's tool to get a job, to get life running. I'm not good with numbers but I think we're paying a lot for gas here. It's going up every week. Last time I checked: 1,50 euros per litro ---> 2,18 dollares USA per litro. 1 gallon is 3,78 litros.

Many families are in crisis. At one point I realized my wife was working so I could go to work. Half her pay was going towards my gas and tolls. Unfortunately public transportation is not an option for me. Things have gotten better for us but not every family is as fortunate. What I don't understand is we have found a way to help people save on their utilities with the deregulation of the industry, so why can't something be done with the cost of gas at the pump? Maybe it's not that they can't but won't. It's difficult to see neighbors and friends hurting. Everyone is struggling just to hold on to what they have. These are people who are not living above their means, they are just suffering due to increases in basic necessities.
