On Goals, Plans, Networking and How it Benefits Your Business

by Corey Blackmur Blackmur Global
Hello everyone;
I posted this last year, so I thought I would put it out there again...............
Why don't you compare where you were last year this time to where you are this year..........Interesting I'll bet?

Happy New Year to all.......

It's the beginning of a New Year, as a matter of fact it's three weeks into it.  It's the week that people usually start to falter and break their New Year's Resolutions.

But not you... this week we are going to assume that you have maximum confidence in your resolutions and goals, and will focus on the step-by-step actions needed to achieve them.  Because you took the time at the end of last year to take out your pen
and write down your key goals.

So let's pull out that list of goals and look at them closely.

Do you have them out?.....

Good now - - How many of these goals will leap off the page and jump into your life and get accomplished?  None?  That's right.

Not that I haven't written about this before ~ BUT do you have the DEDICATION, PERSISTENCE, PASSION and MOTIVATION to overcome the obstacles, and roadblocks that you'll encounter while achieving those goals?
Ask yourself now if you truly BELIEVE that you can ACHIEVE your goals this year?

Are you really COMMITTED enough to tackle everything on that piece of paper?

Do you have enough ENTHUSIASM to get started to tackle everything on that piece of paper?

Are your goals truly IMPORTANT enough to you to get started to tackle them?

Do your goals INSPIRE you to take powerful action to complete what is required.

Like everyone else you may have a VISION, but do you have the PLAN?

Interesting,,,,,,look back over the first part of this article, look at all the words that are capitalized, all key motivating words for personal success.  But do they mean anything when you're having difficulty to even get started on those goals.

Think about that while we take a commercial break - grab a cup of coffee or your favorite drink and we'll come back a talk about a plan to achieve you goals!

Welcome back,,,,,,,,,So!  What project or goal are you having difficulty getting started on?

Sometimes we spend too much time planning and not doing...
Too much time researching and not doing...
Sometimes we have to Stop Getting Ready to Get Ready.
And instead Find a Way to Get Started...

Sometimes we need others to help, to give us a gentle push or a gentle prod.
Sometimes we look at that piece of paper and just don't know what to do
Sometimes we think we can do everything on our own, without the help of others.

Here's an interesting story I received this by email the other day about trying to do things without the help and input of others.

It's aptly named the "LONELY EMBER STORY" and the author is unknown:

A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going. After a few weeks, the pastor decided to visit him. It was a chilly evening. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire.

Guessing the reason for his pastor's visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a big chair near the fireplace and waited. The pastor made himself comfortable but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the play of the flames around the burning logs.

After some minutes, the pastor took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone. Then he sat back in his chair, still silent.  The host watched all this in quiet fascination. As the one lone ember's flame diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and "dead as a doornail." Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting.

Just before the pastor was ready to leave, he picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.  As the pastor reached the door to leave, his host said, "Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the fiery sermon. I shall be back in church next Sunday."

You can catch more stories like this here if your interested.

Now then if you're having a difficulty with a project?  Just start some action on it anywhere, you must get yourself into some kind of action.

If you need generate enthusiasm, get the input of others. This just might help you get yourself in gear, and maybe you'll start to generate enthusiasm and momentum.

You will find it is easier to keep going once you've started.

Let's go back to a statement I made earlier in this article:

"Like everyone else you may have a VISION, but do you have the PLAN?"

If you don't have a plan, if you don't have the confidence to start, if you don't know where to start, get the input of others, network with others.
Get your Legend Network together and move your Vision to a Plan that gets accomplished.

Then maybe you can achieve more by stressing less today!
Remember the old saying "The teacher appears when the student is ready."

Are you Ready?

Great Info..and I love the stress on the Plan "Like everyone else you may have a VISION, but do you have the PLAN?"

I have been promoting Plan First for 6 years ion the Internet and 50 years off-line.
Those who act on Planning seem to succeed ...

Corey I love this you touched on something that I don't think many people realize Activity is not just activity.

I know a lot of extremely busy people that never accomplish a blamed thing because they are too busy planning to be busy. They never progress from the planning activity to the execution activity to the income producing activity.

I've learned to set goals at monthly, weekly, daily intervals. No, I don't do hourly. Daily today, after procrastinating for a week, I joined a program, ordered product online, picked a picture and am now downloading GIMP. Sometimes my daily surfing goals don't get accomplished. Could I beat myself up, sure, however, what would that accomplish. If I get 50% of my daily tasks done, I am content, at this point. Sometimes my daily goals get revamped based on conferences. Daily goals are very flexible.
