12-4-30 And Other Current Trends in Women’s Health and Fitness

A big fitness trend on TikTok is the 12-4-30 trend. The numbers stand for the settings on the treadmill that a woman should set the treadmill to. 

The 12 stands for the incline, so a person should feel like they are walking up a steep hill. The 4 corresponds to the speed, just in between a walk and job. And the 30 corresponds to the number of minutes a woman should aim to stay at this pace. 

Of course, if a woman is just starting out, she may not be able to complete the full workout the first time, and that’s okay! 

Some alternatives are 6 incline, 4 speed for 30 minutes. Or 12 incline, 4 speed for only 15 minutes. A woman should feel empowered to adjust the intensity of the workout to fit her needs!

Keto Diet

The healthy keto diet is a high fat, low carb diet that aims to put the body into ketosis, which is a fat burning phase.

The keto diet aims to minimize the amount of carbs a person eats and maximize the amount of fats that a person consumes. 

There are many benefits of the keto diet, most notably, women notice quick and sustained weight loss on the keto diet due to the low carb nature of the diet. Even more, the keto diet has been shown to lower blood pressure and stimulate the metabolism to better convert food to fuel for the body. 

The keto diet is not like a typical diet because it includes many foods that are typically forbidden, such as cheese.

OMAD

OMAD stands for One Meal a Day, and it is fairly straightforward. A woman should aim to eat only one meal a day, preferably just dinner. 

There are many health benefits to OMAD. First and foremost, OMAD is shown to lead to weight loss, which can have a positive impact on a person’s overall health. Additionally, OMAD is shown to stimulate the metabolism to help a woman more efficiently convert food to energy. 

OMAD is different from dieting because OMAD does not seek to control what a person does, and OMAD does not seek to control how much a person eats. OMAD only dictates when a person should eat to best suit the functioning of the digestive system. 

Additionally, it is still possible to drink black coffee and water throughout the day to help with the initial energy slump that comes with changing up eating patterns.
