The World's Ugliest Fruit-- But Like Most Things It's Good For You, If You Can Get Past The Smell...LOL! :)

by Jeff Greene Online Marketing Specialist/Consultant

There are some things that I will try to eat, if only once, just to see what other Humans are eating in other parts of the World... Sometimes this is Good and other times Not So Good...

The Durian has got to be one of the "Natural Marvels " that I am certainly doesn't have legs....

The wild thing about Durian is that It stinks so badly and looks like 25 sharp- quilled Porcupines all rolled into one, and yet it's called the "King Of The Fruits"...(?)

Believe me, I don't mean any disrespect or insult the food choices of others, but these fruits require a "Special kind of love",  and I mean "Special"... There's a vitamin and mineral hit in Durian that can make a CORPSE jump up and Boogie, but that smell will stay with you forever! :)

PS:  I believe even Jennifer's Turkey Buzzards would definitely pass on this one! :)

yes!!
OmGosh Durian is definitely the KING! I use a supplement made by Neways that has Durian in it. INCREDIBLE stuff!! Here is a link to an article about Neway's Scientific Board endorsing Durian. http://www.neways.com/News/Media.aspx?NAID=1104

I am not out to sell anyone here, I just tend to lean toward the news articles from Neways simply because they have signed the compact agreement of Safe Cosmetics and several other similar compacts. So, their scientific findings/news is Big to me. LOL

The taste is wondrously good, but I would advise you to open and eat the damn thing outside your house, or neighborhood, or town, or State even! LOL! :)

Juenelle, if those parts that you mentioned even come close to smelling like Durian, I certainly would have remained celebate all my Lives! LOL!

NMH, Durian is available and loved in India and other parts of Middle Asia....

Fishie, sweety, I see that you are able to find the Good in stuff that would send the average person heading for the hills! :) Luv ya for that! :)

By the way, folks... These things aren't just ugly and stinky, They are BIG and Ugly and Stinky! LOL! :)

Okay I watch "Bizarre Foods". Andrew Zimmern will eat anything. However after 3 attempts at Durian he has finally admitted there is something he won't eat. Now about that smell. Your sense of taste is a combination of taste buds and smell. I can guarantee if this thing small half as bad as people say it does, there no way in hell I'm touching it much less put it in my mouth!

If "Eatin' Machine" Andrew couldn't eat Durian, he is not alone-- Believe me! :)

The trick is to hold your nose for 60 seconds, and put a bit of salt on the Durian, but there's no guarantee implied here... That is one smelly fruit! :)

First of all, If you manage to get a date after being near a Durian-- He or She WILL become "blind "!

Next, Your Significant Other will probably crumble into a million little pieces, if he or she gets a whiff of Durian-- Break-up Accomplished! :)

Hey Juenelle, there might be some money to be made here! We could create a Durian scent called "Break Up!"-- We'll make millions if we can find a town to put a manufacturing plant in... Let's see... How about Cleveland? LOL! :)

Never in my life have I seen, heard, or smelled this fruit. Perhaps, thank goodness I have not.

I wonder if it has special properties? I would probably throw it up before it could do my body any good...lol.

Your song is perfect!!! Your so cool Jeunelle!

I'n still trying to figure out how the Durian was ever approached by a Human with the idea of trying it as food!

They must have dared a mother while threatening her child LOL! I just can't see them coming up with reason enough for a man to try it. After all it fits in with the mothers requirement for good for you. Think back to the days of cod liver oil and creomulsion.
