10 reasons to switch to Electric Vehicles - Tata Power-DDL
by Mansi L. Be happyElectric vehicles
have the potential to reshape the transportation sector. In lieu of this, the
government of the National Capital Territory launched the Switch Delhi Campaign
to appeal to the citizens of Delhi to shift towards EVs.
This campaign aims
to make Delhi the EV capital of India. The government of Delhi is educating the
citizens to replace their conventional fuel vehicles with EVs.
Reasons to switch
to Electric Vehicles
- Electric
vehicles will drastically cut carbon emissions and clear the air for
significant climate progress.
- The
running cost of an EV is much lower than an equivalent petrol or diesel
vehicle. Electric vehicles use electricity to charge their batteries
instead of using fossil fuels like petrol or diesel.
- Electric
vehicles are more efficient, and that combined with the electricity cost
means that charging an electric vehicle is cheaper than filling petrol or
diesel for your travel requirements. The transportation sector is one of
the highest-emitting sectors and issues ranging from environmental
concerns to fluctuating oil prices continue to push consumers toward
alternatives to combustion engines.
- EVs
are easy to drive due to their simple controls
- They
do not create noise pollution due to the absence of mechanical parts
- EVs
deliver quick acceleration due to the high torque available from the
get-go
- EVs
will rattle fossil fuel markets, with energy
experts anticipating an erosion of oil demand for transportation around
the globe.
- Electric
vehicles are eligible for government-provided subsidies and tax
benefits
- An
Ev does not have a traditional gearbox, which is another distinction from
a conventional vehicle. EV works like a car with an automation
transmission, eliminating the need to shift gears.
- EV
technology is much simpler than that of a combustion engine.
