Do you remember how you felt the first time you joined a network marketing company? The first time you felt you at least had some control over how much you could earn? How excited you were at the companys products and service, its online presence, and the excited group of entrepreneurs you joined with? The first networking company I joined was ACN, one of the biggest around and in many countries worldwide. In September 2009, my brother rang me and told me to watch a video presentation by Matt Rasmussen, one of the leaders in ACN. I signed up immediately, paying $499 for the privilege, and threw myself headfirst into promoting and learning, attending all the local and interstate meetings I could manage, spending heaps on advertising and product plus signing up for all the ACN services, only mobile phones and landlines at that stage. I talked 3 of my sisters into buying ACN services, one joining as a rep like me. Exciting times indeed! Well, several thousands of dollars later, and months of haranguing people in my downline, weeks of cold calling lists of prospects, I thought to myself, there must be an easier way to make a quid in network marketing. Having been online since the net started, I knew there were opportunities there so I went searching. After 9 months of wasted money and time in a travel scam, TVI Express, and paying for a few excellent training businesses, I found an interesting proposition in July 2010, 10 months ago. It was free to join and had an unorthodox approach to online marketing. It was network marketing in reverse, telling us to build a team first before joining anything. Well, I fell in love with the idea as soon as I saw it. The owner, Stephen Scott, stood up to all my stringent searches I reckon I can smell a scam a mile away now! The website was low key, not flashy or hypey at all. Anyway, I had another business I was making money in so I added The Team Building Project to my portfolio. Over the past 10 months, I have followed the guidelines in Stephens back office, recruiting people via Facebook and skype. All very civilised, no spamming or heavy marketing. Ive had a message on my skype inviting people to suggest a business for my 3,000+ team mates and me. That has generated a lot of interest. I havent spent one single cent except for my time. I now have 132 personal referrals, an average of 13 per month or 3 a week. 47 of those appear to be inactive at present its amazing how many people join businesses and do nothing. This leaves about 60 who will be eligible to join any business with me (some will have to wait the 60 days before joining a paying business). Well, in 2 days, well be voting on whether to join our first paying business or not. I will be over the moon if 30 people I recruited join with me. I havent mentioned the other 300 in my downline. I was excited the first day I saw The Team Building Project. Can you imagine my excitement today, as I am about to see the fruition of 10 months steady work?
